TRUE Linkswear Adds Next Generation Stealth to Lineup

Building on the success of their initial golf shoes, TRUE linkswear releases their newest shoe, called Stealth.

Earlier this year, the guys at TRUE linkswear unveiled their latest creation at the PGA Tour Merchandise show back in January, though up until now they haven’t been available for purchase. Last year, TRUE Tours were featured both here at Bag Drop, as well as a full-blown review.

TRUE’s unique approach to footwear follows a barefoot trend in running, in that the shoe should utilize the anatomical qualities of the foot as opposed to arch supports and heavily cushioned heels. This minimalist approach says that the work done by nature is better than anything man can do, and a minimalist shoe combined with an ergonomic traction system allows the body to conform and grip the course naturally.

So what’s new in the stealth? You’ll have to read on to find out.

One of the most popular attributes of the original TRUE Tour was the barefoot platform as well as the fact that they’re super-lightweight. The stealth (yes, the correct spelling is with a lowercase “s”) is, according to TRUE, the lightest shoe on the PGA Tour, and is also equipped with the thinnest sole in golf. That means that your feet stay happy all the way through your round.

The response we’ve had since the PGA Show has been incredible. The TRUE tours have been in high demand and the retailer response has been fantastic. The popularity of the tour has led to daily emails asking when the stealth would be available. We are so excited that day has finally come.

Playing a big part in the creative design of the shoe was none other than PGA Tour pro Ryan Moore (who has been sporting the stealth for a number of months now), who also happens to be co-founder of the company. It was his decision, in fact, to pair a traditionally styled upper with a more modern shape.

While the stealth shares a lot of performance technology with the TRUE Tours, what sets the stealth apart is the premium, oiled leather with a distressed finish and cap toe. The overall appearance transitions extremely well from the course to, well, pretty much anywhere.

Options and Availability
The TRUE stealth is available now in two colors, black with a black sole, and brown with an appropriate titled “Mud” colored sole in sizes 6.5 up through 15. You can order them now at TRUE’s site (www.truelinkswear.com) though we have some other good news to report – starting this fall, they will be available at a number of popular retail chains including PGA Tour Superstore, Golfsmith, Edwin Watts, and Golf Town in Canada. Other regional retailers can be found at TRUE’s website. MSRP is set at $199, and they come with a two year waterproof guarantee.

  1. Seriously… these look like a normal shoe. These are far more comfortable than a real golf shoe, however!

  2. The stealths look good. I recently placed a custom (heated) insole to replace the insole in my original Trues, and it improved the comfort.
