Volume Sixty-Seven

The first link is all you’ll have time for today. You’ll spend hours looking at it.

Another Monday, another Hittin’ the Links. From Tiger’s flawless swing, to a man who “took the 90s off” from golf and returned in high form, to Wie’s heat woes, to the latest MySpace wannabe, this week’s pile of links has it all. Enjoy!

Oh, and if you’ve got links you’d like to see next week, look up my email on our staff page and send me your links.

Hole 1: Tiger Woods Swing Portrait
Thank you Nike. This minute-long video left me speechless for a long while. Watching Tiger’s perfect swing in ridiculously slow motion has added a couple W’s to the end of the “Wowwwww!” that escapes me when I watch him play. Although, it seems to me we don’t often see this perfect swing in action because if we did, everything would be right down the middle. [Link]

Hole 2: Insert Clever Michelle Wie Title Here
Not even close, Michelle. It must be hard being you, having to put up with all the talk about you, whether you can do it or not, and you’re only sixteen, but come on, drink some water, sling a wet towel around your neck, and get on with it. Better luck next time. [Link]

Hole 3: The Golf Space
Trying to ride out the tidal wave that is MySpace and Facebook all the way to the bank, The Golf Space gives golfers a place to meet and connect for a friendly round. It remains to be seen if this is more or less retarded than MySpace, but hell, it might catch on. [Link]

Hole 4: Father-Son Golf
I know I enjoy playing golf with my dad and can’t wait until I can teach my seed the game, its nice to see other people doing the same and passing along a game that will blah blah blah instill values blah blah blah. Whatever, they can have fun and it will be fun to teach them how to play. Watch out Woods and Nicklaus, my kid’s gonna mess up your records. [Link]

Hole 5: Wie, Play With The Girls A Bit
I’m all for Wie trying to play with the men, but I think she should at least play some more golf with women and the proprietor of The Forward Tees agrees with me. It should be noted that Michelle doesn’t have full LPGA membership and plays in the seven annual events she is allowed to play in already. [Link]

Hole 6: Australians Kick Aus
The Australian group on tour seems like a tight-knit group of guys, and they all have game. Tip of my cap to Geoff Ogilvy for filling the Australians-With-a-Major-Championship void last filled by Steve Elkington in 1995. This is a little piece on the Aussies. Enjoy. [Link]

Hole 7: Eatgolf Videos
I love watching videos of the pros swinging their sticks, and EatGolf has risen to the occasion and filled that need in my life. Big thanks to the guys over there for providing some more eye candy for me to google. [Link]

Hole 8: Yeah, I took the 90s Off
I don’t know about you, but my game is in shambles after the off season. I wish I was like this guy that took a decade off the game and comes right back and shoots sub-seventy rounds. This guy sounds like quite the athlete. [Link]

Hole 9: Congrats, John Senden
Thanks to a very skillful bunker shot, John Senden is now a winner on the PGA Tour and he gets to play in the British Open. I’ll be keeping an eye on you, Senden. Nice Play. [Link]

  1. They say that most pro’s swing at 80%. I believe it, but how can anyone say that watching Tiger on the Tee. He seems to come out of his shoes most of the time (coincidentally, this is his weakest part of his game).
