Volume Thirty-One

This week’s links are dedicated to everyone who made the Newport Cup happen.

Hittin' the LinksI had a great time with my fellow Sand Trappers this weekend at the Newport Cup. We had perfect weather, great courses, enjoyable company, and plenty of swings. It was a really enjoyable weekend and I think the Newport Cup could be something huge eventually.

I’m going to dedicate this week’s links to some of the things that made this possible.

Hole 1: Titleist
Let me just tell you the two clubs that have changed my game. The hybrid 503.H and the 905T driver. I ditched a 3-iron and have been hitting more accurate approach shots and can hit the club from anywhere. The driver has added at least 15 yards off the tee and I was routinely down the pipe. [link]

Hole 2: My Putter Cover
If you are in charge of party favors for a golf tournament, go to these guys. They make great headcovers that people will use. I’ve got a garbage bag at home of free crap that I’ve gotten at various tournaments that is the ugliest or most useless things. That drives me crazy. Give people something they’ll use, like a putter cover. [link]

Hole 3: Zero Friction
I haven’t hit the tee ball as good as I did this weekend. Maybe it was the Zero Friction tees we were using. I love them. As a bonus, you don’t have to worry about breaking them! [link]

Hole 4: GuardDog Watches
Ever wear a watch when you play? Me either. They bother me while I’m swinging. Now, I’ll wear my beltclip watch from GuardDog. It doesn’t distract you and you’ll always know your pace of play. [link]

Hole 5: Edwin Watts .com
Edwin Watts is our favorite online golf shop. It should be yours too. [link]

Hole 6: Adidas Golf
I’ve worn their ClimaCool shirts before. This time, I got the right size and the shirt kept me cool the whole trip. I even wore the shoes I reviewed and felt like I was walking on air. Pick up some ClimaCool. It’s worth it. [link]

Hole 7: Swing Juice
Swing Juice sent us over some of their product to fuel us through the Newport Cup. It was good. I’ll have a full review up soon. But in the meantime, give it a try yourself. [link]

Hole 8: The Courses
Man did we play some great courses. Talamore, Pine Needles, and Anderson Creek are all great courses with a superb layout.

Hole 9: The Guys
Erik did a great job of setting this tournament up and I couldn’t have had more fun with all the guys. Thanks for a great time gents. [link]
