I've been a fan of Mizuno irons for some time now and was looking to finally purchase a set. However, I was flabbergasted by the MB's. According to the computer, I was hitting the 7-iron 178 yards - only 6 less than the Mizuno 6-iron -, with minimal sidespin and solid backspin (again, clearly more than with the other clubs). I've been playing with Titleist DCI 990B's and prior to those, with Taylor Made Supersteel -irons. I'll be sure to demo the MB's again later this summer (again alongside with the Mizuno's) and possibly make my move. I tried out the MB's (or rather, the 7-iron) alongside with Mizuno MP-62's (Mizuno 6-iron, Nike 7-iron) and Nike's Victory Reds. Hit 4 thru to PW and they all felt solid, great ball flight lower than my Mizunos and longer due to slightly lower lofts, took them on the course for the first time this evening, these clubs are the real deal, they offer a compact address position, the S300 shafts are superb and the results are straight hits from all numbers. Played 8 holes as a loop, and was within 10 feet with all approach shots to the pins and the ball stopped within 3 to 4 feet, no spin back which is good for me as i dont want to be zipping them off the green. These clubs are easier to hit than Mizunos, the forged heads are very soft and therefore will knock, but this is a small sacrifice for such a marvelous club. Looking for a great set of clubs, then demo these irons. I'm really thrilled with this setup and know they will take my game to a new level. I also changed my swing to the "Stack & Tilt" swing which allows be to make greater solid contact/ball striking. They are forgiving, and the feedback will let you know if you missed the sweet spot. But even when they are miss-hit slightly, they still travel just a bit less than when struck pure. The Cobra Pro CB was exactly the same distance as my old clubs, but the consistency was out of this world. Every shot I hit was 175-178 yds. shot dispertion was very good. mis-hits didnt feel that bad and were off the target line much less then the other clubs I tried, and distance lost on bad shots was much better with the Cobra. Clean shots felt much better than all of the other clubs with equally good shots. The trajectory is high with these clubs for sure, but shots definately seemed to flatten out at the apex and come down very nicely for good distance. because of this I choose for the Rife Project X 6.0 shafts to get the ball just a bit lower for my swing. When all said and done, this club is absolutely the best i have ever hit!
