Gentlemen,
After purchasing the Burner driver with the diamana 63 stiff off Ebay last Spring I will say after playing with it this past summer I have not had such great pleasure hitting a driver. It not only sets up perfectly at address but the dispersion is unbelievable and long medium-high trajectory. I would like to purchase the burner fairway probably the 5 wood but do not want a what I call a hooked face like I see on many fairway woods for some reason. I have been using the Titleist 906f4 5 wood but struggle hitting it straight because of the hooked face. It has a great feel but I need something with a more neutral bulge. Has anyone used the Burner fairway or does anyone use a fairway without the hooked face that they would recommend.
Thanks-the Rocket

Christmas is coming and many of us respect your opinions. When are you going to way in on the burner irions?

After playing the last 2 years with one of the hardest irons to hit... 695 mb's. The Burner xds are unbelievable. I also find them easy to shape shots and given the xds are 4* stronger, I am hiting them 15 yards longer the the mb's. I managed to be a 7 handicap, and time will tell if I can hit more greens (average about 9) in regulation for lower scores.

Has any one hit the aw, sand, & lob Burner xd's? I am considering them, but cant find any info about what the bounce angles are.

Well…call me “manipulated,” but after testing no fewer than 10 different iron sets, including the newest releases clubs from PING, Callaway, and Nike, I just ordered a set of the new Burner XDs.

For me the differences in the feel, distance and accuracy were glaring. I am a Mid-teens handicapper that has been looking for more loft and distance, and after hitting the Burner XDs, there was simply no comparison. The technology must be what they are “hyping,” because the XDs are de-lofted, with many of the clubs 2-5 degrees less-lofted than traditional clubs. But every shot was high, long and accurate… go figure.

I can’t wait to get my set in my hands!
Is this a review or a reproduction of TaylorMade PR material?
Mark... your comment is certainly worthwhile, and you bring up an important distinction at thesandtrap.com. The Bag Drop is really about news and views about equipment... what's being released, what we know about equipment... that sort of thing. So, in that regard, I think George did a great job of letting us know what was next out of TaylorMade.

It wasn't hype... it was news.

On the other hand, our reviews, labeled as such in their headlines, are a lot more exhaustive and impartial. To be honest, they are one of the true strengths of the site. Read Erik's review of the new Titleist fairway metals and you get a better picture of what I mean.

Does anyone feel as though Taylor has lost touch with players irons? They seem to be churning out products that have no feel. Just curious.
