The greens at the British (regardless of the course) are typically unlike anything we see on this side of the water. With bumps and humps and double greens, it should be no surprise that putting is at a premium. With the random / obscure bounces that you can get in certain areas, its tougher to get the ball closer to the hole on a regular basis, even if you are closer to the green (negating the driving distance factor).
