Guys like DL3 and a couple of others that you're mentioning as possible captain's picks need to be left off the team. What the US team needs is some passionate players, and some you guys like Hunter and Anthony Kim. This whole talk about experienced players in the RC obviously has not helped the last three as the US has pretty much been routed since '99. I think Azinger will know how to run the team but c'mon DL3? Toms? Bring in some newbies and see what happens, start grooming the next generation with vets like TW, Phil, and Furyk. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? We seem to be doing a fine job of tanking lately in the RC, I believe it's time for some radical changes. I think the US team needs some new blood on it. The injury issue won't be a factor if he indeed plays his way into the thick of things. Before DL3's last Ryder Cup in 2004, he was basically a .500 guy in the event. If he makes the team, it will be his seventh Ryder Cup, and that definitely helps. It all depends on how well he plays the next few months. If he is playing well around selection time, I'd definitely pick him. He will also be extra fired up after missing the 2006 Ryder Cup. That was the first one he had missed since 1991.
