Kennsington Golf Club is a great second-shot golf course, and if you can get over the somewhat bland driving, a great bargain at a good price.

Recapturing a bit of the past and taking it into the future: that's what we find at Bedford Springs.

Longaberger is one of the most expensive courses we've ever reviewed, but it's worth it.

Avalon Lakes is typical Pete Dye, but set in the middle of Ohio. Renovated in 2001, the course shows plenty of Dye characteristics.

After a slow start, Windy Knoll blows you over with a good challenge at a reasonable rate.

Whispering Woods is clearly Erie's best public course, and it will only get better as the course matures.

Darby Creek is a great example of a small diamond in the rough, except by "rough" I mean "nowhere near signs of modern civilization" and by diamond I mean "a moderately priced venue that exceeds expectations."

Eagle Sticks is a renaissance course that rewards creativity and shotmaking over the popular bomb and gouge style of play. It's a throw-back course, and a fun, well-designed one at that.

Cranberry Highlands is a very playable golf course that suffers a little bit from blandness. I prefer to think of it as more of a blank canvas for the kind of golf you'd like to play.

Augusta National has become an abomination. Here's to hoping Billy Payne can begin to right Hootie's wrongs.

On New Jersey's western border, just across the Delaware from Easton, PA, lies a golf course that proves a great test doesn't have to bring you to your knees.

Does the Twin Cities area need another golf course in an oversaturated market? Does converted farmland make a good golf course? Yes and yes (although about three million yards of dirt had to pushed around first).

"Deep Freakin' Bunkers Country Club" may be a better name for this course, but Little Mountain will suffice for now.

Grey Hawk will drop the jaws of the higher handicapper, but it fails to appeal to better players and fans of architecture.

Candywood Golf Club features great course conditions and a tremendous value. I only wish the design was a bit more interesting.

Muirfield Village is no pushover. Not only does the course throw 7400 yards at players, but it throws sand, water, elevation changes, and tricky greens, too. Players will have their hands full this week!

Nick Von Hofen comes from a golf-crazed family. It only makes sense that he would end up at one of southwestern Florida's swankiest new resort courses.

The TPC of Sawgrass is undergoing a massive renovation. If you weren't sure how massive, these pictures should demonstrate to you quite clearly how massive it truly is!

Naples Grande Resort and Club

Naples Grande Resort & Club kicks off the Blackstone Group's new company look.

Oak Tree Country Club is a shotmaker's course: you'll be forced to work the ball both directions to navigate this deceptively narrow track.

Arnie and The Golden Bear finally speak out against Hootie's Augusta renovations.

Mystic Rock

Take a small picture tour of Mystic Rock, home of the 84 Lumber Classic.

A fair test of golf that plays far shorter than the 7025 yards listed, the Upper Course at the Peak is a sight to behold.

Augusta National is being lengthened yet again. Yawwwwwwn. When will these people ever learn that it ain't distance that's dropping scoring averages?

Vistoso Golf School

Vistoso Golf Club has a great golf school. Book through tucsongolf.com for a great golf package.

Amen Corner

Amen corner explained by the Atari 2600 Guy

In three days I played The Pit, Tobacco Road, and Mid-Pines. What did I think? Which was my favorite? You may be surprised…

Tom Fazio has gained notariety for his golf course designs, just how good are they?

How Good is too Good?

Is the new standard of well manicured golf courses in America killing American golf?
