This golf course is crazy short compared to the yardage. I was booming it like 300 and I only average about 230. I shot like crap I shot 64 on the front due to a 9,7, and 10 the 9 and 7 coming on the par 3's.I was shanking sandwedges into the woods that day. This course is an awesome test of golf I played it during a high school golf match. The only course I like better is Yankee Run in Brookfield, Ohio the hole that is most annoying there is the 8th there is a huge slope in front of the green and you should be happy with a bogey. I Like Kennsingtons variety, but Yankee reminds me of a solid traditional golf course. Kennsington is definitely a must play I was shocked when I saw it at first I would have never thought it was in Ohio.

Having played there twice this year, I think your comments are pretty well bang on. The course does need another year to grow in further, aeration will certainly help. Found that the rough in some places is more hardpan mud than grass, and whatever grass there is, seems to be rather thin if it is in an open area (eg along the 18th).

I believe that the par 5's generally do not present themselves to be birdie opportunities, especially with the need to hit 3 iron shots into the green concept.

I also found that the greens can be tricky due to growth and therefore speed inconsistencies.

But I think that over time, this will become one of the best courses in the area, especially for the buck. As an interesting and somewhat different test of golf, I will continue to play this course again and again when I'm in the area.
