I cannot imagine an ethical gyn doing this. Induction by nature is elective, but there are usually some medical reasons for doing it, boiling down to some degree of risk posed to mom or baby by waiting. They say Faldo did this. Perhaps, but I'm sure there must have been some sort of medical justification. Maybe the timing of the induction was decided with an eye toward his golf schedule, but the decision to do it reqhad to have been medically based. As Erik implied, 37 weeks is not unusual for a spontaneous delivery.
