i have a very difficult decscion to make regarding my nike sasquatch 3 wood that i just got reshafted a dicks sporting goods. There seems to be a problem with the head of the club, and it needs to be replaced. Dicks has given me two choices. They can send it to nike and i can get an original nike sq 3 wood but i will have to wait a very long time, and i am a competitive player that plays in tournaments and every day during the week. so i dont know about this descesion. And the other choice is to let dicks put a square head on it for no cost, but im not sure if this will be good since im a low handicap player and this seems like a higher handicap club. What would you do if you were me, by the way, i get to keep my exotic shaft and expensive grip so that doesnt matter.

So I'm guessing that Dick's does not have the SUMO head in stock? Is there any chance that they can order it for you and then put that on the shaft?

try to demo the square head at your local course or another store... but from the sounds of it you got stuck in a tight situation.
if you play to a true 12 handicap I wouldnt say the square club is out of your range of play but in the end it all comes down to how you hit the club
if you've had sucess with the original style then stick with it and bite the bullet

First of all,
You play in tournaments everyday of the week? Or you mean once a week? I'd say just let them put a new head on it for you. That's what I would do. A brand new head, and a brand new shaft, and I'm assuming a new grip from the reshaft, basically equals a brand new club? Doesn't sound bad to me. The square head isn't just for high handicappers. I've seen good players on the courses near me use the square headed woods.

no there is no swapping of brands of golf clubs. And i play everyday, im 15 and live on a golf course, i play in 3 or 4 tournaments a month.

I would send it to Nike. Better of to keep what's working for you. It shouldn't cost you to many strokes on the course. You have a hybrid. That should be long enough just about. If you don't win these tournaments it's not going to be the end of the world.

I think if you like to work the ball left or right then wait for the replacment, if you want to hit it straight get the square head

At a 12 handicap, I think the squared head will help you. Add distance and keep it straight. its worth trying.

Agreed, and more likely, I doubt you'll notice much of a difference. If you're truly a 12, I'm not sure what "competitive" events you're playing in besides a league or something, but I don't see changing out one club as affecting you all that much, and it may have a positive effect.

Well, if you insist on keeping the traditional wood head then send it out right away. In the meantime you can use your hybrid or whatever on the golf course consider it as an opportunity to experiment on a different style of approach to the greens. Who knows you'll score better. ;-)
Otherwise get the square head.
