View Full Version : Artifical turf question

The wife and I have just started playing golf and being we live in Minnesota, we can only use the indoor driving ranges.
The one we go to has a strip of artifical turf that's about 1 foot wide and 3 foot long, its made about twice the thickness of all the other mats we've seen.
This stuff works great for practicing chip shots and we would like to get some for home use.
Haven't had much luck at the local golf shops, or on-line, and the guy at the indoor range we go to isn't sure where it came from (he's not owner), can any of you help?

Thanks for your time.

Al

Welcome to the sand trap!

How much do you want to spend? There are a few good options and I'll try to list them from very expensive to cheap.
Fiberuilt (www.fiberbuilt.com/golf/GolfProductsConsumer.html)
GolfSmith Astroturf (www.golfsmith.com/products/20222?fcst=GSI_WEB)
Izzo Hitting Mats (www.izzo.com/chipping_mats.asp)

That's a short list from some good manufactureres, and should help you get started. Hope that helps

Thanks for the suggestions, lots to choose from.
Just found out there's a Golf show going on this weekend, so I can also swing by that and look.

Thanks all,
Al
