Hey Guys,
Well tennis season is finally over, which means I can start playing golf again. Yes! This also means I'll have lots of ProV1 and 1x or Callaway golf balls I need to get rid of because honestly I'm not good enough to recognize the difference in ball type.
I sold over 600 ProV1's to forum members last summer. Check this previous thread and read what some members had to say about the quality and reliability of the balls and my service.
http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2637
Email me at Radio103@aol.com, with the Quantitiy totals and what type of ball you're looking for! I sold them for around $15 a dozen, depending on how many you want to buy. Look forward to saving you guys lots of money again.

I can vouch for Tin Cup that he is indeed selling some good balls here. As a matter of fact I recently emailed him asking to hook up with more, prior to his posting.
I don't know where he's getting them, don't care too terribly much either I guess.
Great balls at a great price. Buy with confidence.

I had been in contact with TinCup over a month ago and we were working out a deal for some balls. I have not heard back from him in a while. Anybody else get a hold of him lately? I was quite ready to purchase balls from him considering he seemed very easy to deal with. Hopefully everything is ok...

If you read the original post then you would understand why I have ProV's that I don't need.
Like I said I'm a casual golfer...I can't spin the ball or desperately need the extra 10-15 yards that the ProV brand offers. I could put just about anything on my tee and get the same results. However, people on this forum are a lot better then I and understand the benefit of having the best ball around. Also they realize that getting the balls at 65-75% off isn't a bad deal. So its a win win for everyone.

I know, but my question is, why do you have theese in the first place? It shouldn't take more then buying a 1 pack to realize they do nothing for your game.

Glad to hear it Green! might have to change your signature to say you play titelist now. Especially after receiving 108 of those bad boys. :-)
Yeah I mean if you want to work on another order just send me a PM and we'll get it figured out. The price might go up just a bit because of the increase in demand.
Again glad you approve and let your friends know!

My friends already know and after seeing what I got, they want in. I will shoot you a PM discussing an amount and you can give me a price like last time. I understand the increase in demand may shoot the price up a bit, so dont worry bout that. Pretty tough to argue with the rules of Supply and Demand. Thanks again.

June 19th, 2007, 03:14 pm
Okay, i've never ordered used golf balls before...so maybe my anticipations were a little off. Just after reading several comments from satisfied buyers saying "No scuffs on a single ball, AAA quality, all 42 balls great shape, etc", I was expecting a little more.
Eric was great in customer service. The whole shipping delay was entirely UPS's fault.
But I just wanted to know from everyone else who have bought some ballsf rom Eric, if my expectations for used balls were off. I ordered 4 dozen ProV1's, like many previous customers he included an extra 3, which was great! Made the total 51 balls. However, about 20 balls had obvious contact with either a tree or cartpath that you could feel on the surface of the ball (several are obvious cartpath). Another 10-12 were slightly discolored and had normal signs of use. About 7-10 looked like they were 1 round old with minimal signs of use.
Again, this is not a come down on Eric...but merely wondering if everyone else is getting the same quality of balls and just sees it differently? I could totally be in the wrong here, perhaps our definitions of scuffs are different (in his first post he said he didn't include any that had any scuffs or anything he couldn't scrub off).
So, am I totally off here? Because if I am, I apologize!
TinCup
June 19th, 2007, 03:24 pm
Yeah the quality really depends on expectations combined with what I find. Jeff I assumed from your haste you wanted them as soon as I could put them together.
I would say that the first batch we put together was more worn then usual. But it Seems green6767 liked his fine. So I can say that for everyone else that we're sending out the quality is a lot better.
The key thing is you're paying and receiving 75% percent off. If the quality of ball or a scuff affects your play then obviously you are good enough and should spend $60 dollars a dozen and have piece of mind that you're balls are perfect.
Jeff even though these were a bit more on the used side I mean if your order had only one dozen that you would say were in excellent one round condition then that is worth the $60 bucks you'd spend on titelist.com then the other 36 golf balls are a gift so I would think thats a pretty nice setup. At least in my mind because I can't afford $240 dollars for 4 dozen balls.
I appreciate the feedback. And Green let me know
JeffG
June 19th, 2007, 03:40 pm
I see your point. However, I didn't mention I wanted them in a hurry until after you had shipped them. So, I don't think my haste was cause for you to get them together as soon as possible...as I thought you had already had all of them in stock ready to ship.
"I would say that the first batch we put together was more worn then usual. But it Seems green6767 liked his fine. So I can say that for everyone else that we're sending out the quality is a lot better."
So, I guess I was just unlucky in getting a bad shipment while everyone else's was of higher quality.
Anyway, like you said...I do have a few that are in good shape and hopefully I'll be able to keep those out of the water or rough! Thanks!

June 19th, 2007, 03:53 pm
I can honestly say there are some balls in the 108 that I ordered that DO have very minor scuffs, discoloration, tree marks, or whatever. They all feel as though they have been refinished, they aren't dull or majorly scuffed. I would rate these AA to AAA on a AAAA scale. AAAA being hit a couple times...near perfect ball. I wont discuss what I paid for them, as Im sure we all got different prices as demand went up. 108 balls of this caliber would have cost me about $450 at retail brand new and I spent MUCH less than that on these. Eric is fair, honest, and a pleasure to deal with. If discoloration and a pea size scuff affects your game, why are you buying USED balls?
JeffG
June 19th, 2007, 04:03 pm
Ha okay, obviously my point was not taken well...
All I was saying is, many people had previously said "No scuffs on any ball, great quality, AAA" etc....and Eric said in the original post last year that he doesn't include any balls with scuffs or something he can't scrub off.
About 40% of the balls I received had visible evidence of cart path or tree marks. Some the Titleist Logo was almost scratched off. 2 of them had a cut exposing the 2nd layer.
Discoloration doesn't bother me at all neither would a pea sized scuff, but if you looked at the pictures these aren't pea sized scuffs, more like nickel and quarter-sized. Which is consistant with 3rd grade balls at used golf ball sites that sell for less than what Eric sells them at.
Anyway, I did not make a post to start a debate. Obviously, I just got a little more worn shipment than normal, no big deal. I won't post anymore, again i'll say Eric is a good seller...great communication...fast shipment...and he obviously has many satisfied customers.

Yeah Sorry Jeff...I think you're shipment doesn't reflect the majority of shipments I send out. I try my best to only ship the best I can and eliminate any that I myself would be disapointed playing. Again wish I could make the situation better but unfortunately whats done is done.

From your pictures, I'd be more annoyed that you got Pro V1x and even a Callaway (???) ball. If I order Pro V1, I wouldn't want Pro V1x.
The key thing is you're paying and receiving 75% percent off. If the quality of ball or a scuff affects your play then obviously you are good enough and should spend $60 dollars a dozen and have piece of mind that you're balls are perfect.
Nobody pays $60 for a dozen balls. Be reasonable. Your prices aren't as great as you claim because you're making false claims about the cost of brand new balls.

I read lots of threads and all the articles on the home page. I don't have time to put thought into other threads unfortunately. Al though I will try.
The only reason i put $60 dollars in is because titelist.com lists them at $58 and I've gotten emails from people saying they pay that price. Thats the reason why so I don't think it's unreasonable. But points taken. And people are allowed to specify if they want Prov's or ProV1xs and from what I remember Jeff asked for half and half so that is why there is a mix.
Thanks for the input iacas.
Feel free anyone to PM or Email me any new orders as I am working on new shipments.

I said I wasn't going to post anymore here but I did not request a half and half. You might have me mixed up with someone else. I just asked for 4 dozen Pro V1s. I haven't looked at each individual ball yet to see what type, but I don't think there are too many Pro V1x's...maybe 25%...and there were only 4 Callaway's (3 of which he just threw in as a bonus i'm assuming).

Jeff - You're not the only one that's disappointed. I wanted 2 doz. Pro V1 but was told that he only wanted 3 doz. minimum. Based on previous comments, I went ahead with an order for 3 dozen. Here's how they broke down:
11 good quality Pro V1 (I'd put them into play and feel good about their quality as a used ball)
1 TaylorMade TP/Black
1 Callaway HXT Hot
10 (!) Pro V1 X
1 Pro V1 PRACTICE
12 Pro V1 that have pretty obvious/serious damage
So, for the $53 that I paid ($15/dozen plus $3 shipping), I could have bought a dozen brand new Pro V1, which would actually give me 1 more Pro V1 than I got and they'd be brand new!! None of the balls could pass for one that had only been hit once or twice.
I will say that communication and speed were good for a mom and pop operation. Unfortunately, when I'm buying a tangible good, the product matters more than the service.
I wasn't in any hurry and never indicated such. Short of Radio offering a full/partial refund, I guess that I'll have to chalk this one up as a learning experience.
If you're ordering balls from this seller, be aware that you're buying used balls and expect some/most/all to be less than good condition.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. Yes, I emailed him basically my whole post BEFORE I posted the pictures and my complaints on the board. I wanted to give him time to rectify the situation before I let all his potential customers know...I waited a day and a half and got no response from him. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he just might not have been at his computer yet, but I saw that he had made a post on this thread replying to another customer. So thats when I decided to make a post about my dissatisfaction.
I thought he might try to make the situation good, by offering full/partial refund (still haven't used any of them yet) but obviously thats not an option because of his previous comment of :
"Yeah Sorry Jeff...I think you're shipment doesn't reflect the majority of shipments I send out. I try my best to only ship the best I can and eliminate any that I myself would be disapointed playing. Again wish I could make the situation better but unfortunately whats done is done."
So, he admitted that my shipment was bad....but that its just bad luck on my part and whats done is done.
Also, he tried to backtrack after my accusations...saying that I wanted them in "haste" and so he was in hurry to get my order together. Which is a fabrication as he sent out invoices and shipped every order of the first batch on the same day. Plus, it was after it was shipped did I mention I needed them in a hurry.
I haven't counted up, but I did see several pro v1x's...to that which he said I requested half and half which is false.
Like you, I spent $66 dollars and got maybe a dozen of really playable balls. According to him I am still coming out ahead because prov1's are $60 a dozen and I still get 3 dozen of pretty much "practice balls". However, there are many other used golf ball sites that get rave reviews. For $66 I could get almost 3 dozen top quality Pro V1's from lostgolfballs. Which I've heard look like brand new.
So, like you, short of a partial/full refund I'll chalk this up to a learning experience and caution future buyers.

Now I havent bought any balls from tincup, nor do I plan to. However I cant believe what im seeing in this thread. For any business, small or large, this many complaints would not stand.
Personally I just bought 4 dozen NXT Tours USED, on ebay for 30 bucks and every single one of them could be mistaken for new. THAT is a great business. What this guy is running is nothing more then overpricing for junk balls that a 30 plus handicapper shouldnt even play.

To those dissatisfied - and please, no piling on - click the reputation button for the seller and give him negative reputation points. If he gets below 0, he won't be allowed to post new threads in the Marketplace.
To TinCup, as far as I'm concerned, you should consider yourself on probation right now.

Thing is, I want to know where mine are at. He needs to have a better contact system and let people know whats going on if he's worried about his image or company. I ordered them last week after he told me he has some balls for me to ship...so pay now. So I did. I'm leaving Friday the 29th at 6am and wanted some balls before I go on my trip back to San Diego for a week. Had I know I he wasn't going to ship them, I would have bought some eBay or even some over run balls at my local Shop.

Well, this thread sure got out of hand quickly. Personally, I've now had a chance to actually play with some of the 108 balls that I've ordered and they work FINE for me. I'm very impressed about the quality of balls I got for what I paid for em. Im a serious player and I care about my score. I would not play with a crap ball. Personally I think some of you guys are being a bit harsh here. I would bet that anybody who ordered balls here that can't tell a difference between a NEW ProV1 and a USED ProV1 besides looks.

I have to say that I was also pretty surprised of the negative posts, although I was also surprised to see that pic of some of the balls that Radio sent out.
Personally I haven't bought balls from Radio since last year, but when I did I was completely satisfied and would expect the same if I were to order again today.
You guys have to understand, you are buying used balls. Now you can go buy used Pro V1s from eBay and probably get better quality as a whole, but guess what, you'll pay more than what Radio charges.
I am sure that there is an explanation to all of this and I am also sure that Radio will do what he can to rectify the situation. Negative feedback like this does not have to hurt or ruin his business, how he responds will be the issue that can make or break the business in my opinion.

I got my golf balls, I had an issue with some of them and Eric cleared things up right away actually. He acted much more professionally than you would expect based on comments here. He fully understands that the first batch was messed up and we worked out a compromise in which both parties are fully satisfied. Just act professional yourself and you will get the same courtesy. Give him a chance, the second run should be of better quality.

Thank you Eric.
He's never worked anything out with me. Anybody want to buy a dozen ProV1x? I didn't order and of these and I won't use them.

Email me at Radio103@aol.com, with the Quantitiy totals and what type of ball you're looking for! I sold them for around $15 a dozen, depending on how many you want to buy. Look forward to saving you guys lots of money again.
here's your answer hope it helped

If you can go low enough, I'll pick 'em up. I prefer the V1x over the V1, anyway. And you won't have to pay a ton for shipping.

Well, I'm throughly disappointed in my dealings with Tincup. I highly recommend NOT buying balls from him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is my e-mail to him on 7/9/07 (after my vacation)....
Tincup,
Here are some pictures of the balls you sent me.

You sent me 29 balls for $42. 15 of these balls have chunks, tears and gouges that make them not worth a penny. If I found them on the course I would have either left them there or thrown them away!! In all of them, 3-4 balls would be considered AA, 2 maybe AAA and good to play with. This is very disappointing and you should never consider selling these balls to anyone!! I don't care what their handycap is.
I feel a refund of at least $22 for the balls that are just barely usable isn't too much to ask for the conditions they are in and sending only 1 Pro V1x ball since that is what I asked for.
Please respond ASAP!!!
Thank you.
Then his only response in 7/11/06 was ....
I just got to your email.
What is your full name?
So I emailed him my name and still no word from him. I bought these to play with and for the price of how many balls I got, could have bought new ones and the correct Pro V1x balls! I can't believe the quality of these balls! Not only did they have chunks, tears and gouges, but I have a ball that actually has bubbles inside the dimples. I think it's a bit water logged..:-\

Just got my order in the mail..everything looks good and Eric threw in a few more balls than I ordered because a couple of the balls had a few marks on them. Really nice service!
Thanks a lot, Eric,
Ryan

Wow, must be nice. I'm still waiting on a partial refund that he supposedly sent a while ago. :-(

Pro V's for $15 a dozen. How can anyone be surprised that these are reclaims???? Seems like you do alot of fishing though Tin. Nothing more satisfying that hitting a water logged golf ball....LOL

It's not that they are reclaims, which is obvious, but the condition they are sold in.
He claims he refunded my money, but have yet to see it. I dought I will now..:-\

The kid is in Junior High School... is this surprising?
Looking at the pic of the balls he posted originally they didnt look to be in great shape.
Just for info, Edwin Watts has balls in a big bin, they are all pro v1 and v1x with practice marked on them, they are typically in very good condition, some have small scuffs... they are $15 per dozen plus tax.
I just picked up some balls on ebay and just figured out they were repainted... NOT cool and they DO play differently, no question about that. Gotta be careful out there!
