Hey, guys and gals...

I've seen a bunch of tour players with bracelets on. Some are colored, most are black or white. Does anyone know if these are new pain-relief bracelets or just more of the "I'm a cool guy because I support a Lance Armstrong-type cause" bracelets?

LOL Love the Lance Armstrong comment.

I'm really not sure what they are. There are so many "causes" today that it wouldn't surprise me. What exactly does a pain-relief bracelet do? Or rather, how does it relieve pain just by being there?

My high school golf coach/biology teacher wears one now. He said that whether it's psychosomatic or what, it seems to make him feel better. And it looks halfway decent (not girly), so... whatever.

There are bracelets made out of different materials (copper, gold, etc.) like these (http://www.golfshoplive.com/) and then there are ones with magnets like these (http://www.pioneerthinking.com/magnetic.html). It's all a bit too "noo-agey" (new age) for me, but, to each his own.

I don't trust those magnet bracelets. I've heard they do actually work in easing pain. But my theory is that once you use one, you'd better not take it off. Like your body adjusts to it. Once adjusted if you do take it off, you'll bug out! Luckily I'm not an old codger, yet, so I don't have any pains to fight.
