WTB: Used Cameron Putters

Basically, I just want to start a collection by cleaning up some beat up Cameron's (through the restoration shop). I'd prefer to keep the prices under $150. I'd be interested in any of these models:

Classics, Classic Oil Cans, Teryllium Newports, Mil-Spec Newports, Studio Stainless Newports, Studio Styles, Pro Platinums, and Studio Designs. Right now, any cameron (except the futura, red x, and flange) would be great. Sizes: 34-35".

I you have one you'd like to sell, pm me with the details. I'm also trying to find some websites devoted to colleting or selling Camerons (I'm kind of a newbie). Thanks!

The ultimate Scotty-head forum is http://www.cameroncollector.com. Those guys in there really know their Camerons, and there's a section in there where they sell and trade.

Your best bet for finding old beat-up Camerons is on eBay, but I'll tell you right now -- it'll be tough to find many for under $100. Now that the Custom Shop's restoration services are common knowledge, demand has gone up for used/abused Cameron putters, and sellers are starting to price them accordingly. Regular OTR ("off the rack") putters will run over $100 at least, and you can forget about any special editions (1/500, protos, tours, JATs, etc). Those usually require pretty high initial investments.

Thanks for the help ragatona. I had no idea there was such a demand for them. I'll keep a look out on ebay. Maybe I'll get lucky.

I haven't had too much success with eBay. Today I found a decent TeI3 Newport at a local golf shop priced at $125, but I was able to get them to sell it to me for $100. I'll probably eventually send it in for Restoration, but thats $175 on the TeI3 so I'll probably wait a little while.

I also post on http://www.cameroncollector.com and thats where I've learned a lot about the world of collecting Cameron's.

I just bought a Studio Style Newport 2 for $215 shipped. It is brand new with the headcover and tool. I'm really looking forward to my first Cameron. Thanks for the comments ragatona (I bought it from Venno at cameroncollector.com) and xbucky. I look forward to adding more to my collection soon!

Hello JSF35, you mentioned that if there was a Scotty Cameron for sale, you'd like to know. Well, I just happen to know of somebody who's selling an extremely rare one that you might know someone who'd be interested. It's a new 1997 Scotty Cameron Newport Augusta "Winner's Putter", #197 of 270 pcs. (we all know who won in '97). What makes this putter rare is that I've been told the 1st 100 pcs went to Augusta members only, & the remaining 170 were for sale to the public. Here's the catch...in order to even get a chance in getting one of the 170, you either had to know someone at Titleist or they had to contact you to inquire if you'd be interested. Comes with its certificate plaque signed by both Scotty C. & the Augusta winner in '97..Tiger Woods himself & a Titleist display rack. Price? Seller wants $8500.00
