    Which scores does GHIN use?

Okay ive looked on their website and on the USGA website and found nothing. How does GHIN determine what scores they use for your handicap revisions and which scores they dont use. Im looking at my page and there are asteriks where it says "used". I dont understand though what determination is made.

Your handicap only takes into account the lowest X scores of your last Y rounds. Usually, it's the best 10 of the last 20. Until you have 20 round under your belt it's slightly different. Check the bottom of this article for the details:

GHIN is the USGA, or something. They apply USGA rules re: handicaps, anyway... you can't have a "GHIN handicap" and a "USGA handicap" and have them be different. They're the same.

But they're a different organization, technically... I think?

As I've always understood, it's the middle 10 out of the last 20. Low 5 and high 5 get tossed.

the index supposed to reflect your "potential to score" not "average". That's why they're taking top 10. Additionally if you have a official tournament score - it will be weighted more and go ahead of other scores.
