    Ballooning

When I got my irons a few months ago I got regular flex steel shafts, however when getting a driver the fitter gave me the V2 proforce. I have noticed while I hit a great driver, the Irons have been having a different flight thats great for accuracy but horrible in the wind. They seem to climb up high, I can hit my 8 iron much higher than my sand wedge, but the distance is close to being the same. Is this just proper ball flight and I had been hitting low shots, or am I "ballooning" it?

Ironically, I had an 8iron shot into the wind earlier today that ballooned up in the air. It was from about 140yds away (2 clubs up from normal b/c of wind). Caught it very well and was very accurate, but as it the ball rose in the air, the wind caught it and just shot it higher, it was very noticable.

It's probably not the shafts. What kind of "R" steel shafts are they?

Most of us add loft to our clubs at impact, making our 8 iron into a PW

its a true temper, whatever comes stock in the x-20's. Now that you mention the wind there was a headwind on the range the last couple of days. The ball is also about 1 ball back from center of my stance.

it's not the shaft, it was the wind that caused it to balloon up so quickly. its happened on several occasions at the range and whatnot
