    my swing has evolved *videos*

well guys i really restructured my swing this year and i figured i show before and after videos and let me know what you guys think.

Before: My main reason for changing was the lack of consistency and a real bad case of the shanks i suffered early this year. In this swing i hardly had any wrist hinge at all and my swing used alot of shifting my body laterally instead of rotating to get any kind of normal distance out of it.

After: I'm really happy with the almost finished product. I am hitting the ball better than i ever have and my scores and starting to fall. This swing my backswing is longer but i feel i have more control. My swing actually rotates as opposed to pushing through the ball(if that makes any sense). It was extremely hard and I shot alot of bad rounds(93-99) to get it the way i want it(80-85 and falling), but after trying to change a swing i have had since i was 10(22 now) i am tickled to death with how far it has come.

i know it may not look like alot to some but i feel alot better about my game and figured i'd share it with you guys.

    cheers

+1 on tempo but it still looks pretty "loose":

    * your left arm doesn't have to be straight, but it looks like it actually "gives" a little at the top

    * the ground is very irregular but you took a LOT of soil with that swing; be careful you're not still sweeping/pushing through, like you said you were before, as opposed to having a sharper/more descending blow with that mid-iron.

Bottom line is, if your scores are dropping, congrats. Moving from 90's to 80's means you've made a huge leap in eliminating chunks/duffs and improving course management, but I think to make the next leap to the low/break-80 threshold, you'll need to eliminate a few more extraneous moving parts that are still there.

take video when you're actually hitting a ball. Anyone with a desent swing can demonstrate ok tempo and follow through with a practice swing. I like that twirl at the end, you got that down.

Yeah, the twirl is AWESOME!!! I've been dying to learn how to do that!

But I'm still learning how to shape the ball the other way (draw)!!

Yeah you really have to be hitting a ball, doing it without one doesnt really do any good.

With what we can see I agree with the "loose" comment and the arm bend at the top.

What I like: Your finish with your body is much better.
-You are creating lag for power
    -Tempo

What I think you could improve:
-Shorten backswing but keep the lag for power. (It can be done)
Make everything more compact (rotation vs lateral movement.)

Nice improvements though, mostly in power I think though. Now you'll want to improve the accuracy of your shots.

Do another video showing you hitting a ball and also a down the line shot hitting the ball. Both angles.
Swing = Stacked and On Plane when possible.

thumper, I'd also like to say it's easy for others to carve or critique a swing from the sidelines. It's great to put up videos, my winter project will be to get some videos of my swing before and after my switch to stack and tilt.
