My point is if you can't find your ball for whatever reason the penalty should be the same.  I am off to work so I won't be responding until tonight.

Fourputt,  Just to be clear I have no problem with O.B., lost ball being stroke and distance, but I feel if the ball is lost wherever it is lost the penalty should be the same.  I don't think we would have as many complaints...
