Shot a real turd of a 43 (+8) over 9 holes this morning. Beautiful weather. I just didn't have it. Could not hit a GIR worth anything (2/9) and couldn't get up and down to save my life (1/7). 4/7 fairways. Spent over an hour on the putting green and chipping green later in the day. Work and Standard Time are the bane of the golfing class...
Only reason I'm considering moving away from my Mr. Beasley is because leo3 posted that Golfsmith is selling the Beasley in black for $60.... Great putter. Good weight. Very solid on pure strokes and the occasional mishit. Rolls very true.
77. Very happy with it as I haven't been on course in almost two months. Range time and backyard work clearly paid off. Finished in 2:45 without pushing hard at all. If I hadn't had somewhere else to be I would have played another 18.
That's right up there with the guy I ran into down in Texas. Speeds up past a walking twosome (they were pretty good and playing pretty fast) in his cart and catches me and my uncle on a par 3. Stands on the tee-box staring at us, I putt out, my uncle waves him to hit up before holing out... well, the guy pulls it 30 yards dead left into someone's yard. Speeds past us to the next tee box ignoring his shot. The tee box was maybe 75 yards away and the ass didn't even...
In terms of how long ago did I start, it's been probably 12 years. In terms of how many years have I actually played? I'm not even sure, but I do not think it has been the whole 12 years. Having actually played, I'm easily in the 5-10 group.
Went in to buy a stiff arm, left with what I came for plus a pack of 50 zero friction tees and a white Adidas Titans polo. Did not leave with the Cobra S9-1 Pro D with a Motore F1 X-flex shaft that was on the used rack for $125. Not quite sure how, though... I even have a shaft I would throw in it if I didn't want to use the Motore...
Golf is CLEARLY a tech thing. Club design, if I'm not mistaken, is almost all done with CAD and other similar software packages.I assume you are against video based swing analysis, too?Club technology has done more to change the game than GPS technology ever will. GPS is an advancement of the yardage book. And it is much, much closer to that old technology than new clubs are to their predecessors. GPS will not cause courses to push back the tee boxes or grow out the...
Just got my SKB Standard (48x12) case via FedEx yesterday and I am really excited to use it for a trip to Houston over the Labor Day weekend. It seems quite sturdy from the shell to the latches to the TSA approved lock on the middle latch. My Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 fits very well. But despite the padding on the top inside, I will be wrapping my clubheads in either a towel or bubble wrap (if I have some sitting around). I will post my reactions after my trip, but...
40 (+5) on a sloooooow nine after work. Got stuck behind the last group in a high school match so, of course, it was the last girl's group. As a threesome they were two or more holes behind the next group (a foursome). Yikes. It was still fun. Just... slow...
Shot an ugly 86 at a course I'd never played before (71.2/123, 6481 from the whites). Beautiful weather so it was hard to care too much that I started out triple-, double-bogey. Played alright after that. Irons just weren't working most of the day. Only missed one fairway on the back. Just couldn't stick my second shots... Mid-70s and sunny with low humidity in August? Wow! Absolutely perfect!
