If you are 13+ handicapper get the range pass (and a couple lessons if you can swing it).   If you are under 13 spend all your time playing.

I put Lamkin Crossline full cords (plus 2 wraps) on my irons last season and the more I played with them the more I liked them.   I need a new driver grip, so I'm going to try the new Winn Duratech Hybrid this season. 

If I have the option to either practice or play a round I am out on the course faster than a knife fight in a phone booth.     Living in Wisconsin, however, forces me to be a practicer in the winter/early spring months...
