I recently just started keeping track of my golf stats (Putts,GIR,Fairways,etc.). When I putt off the fringe I mark that as a putt in my stats, I was wondering what the proper ruling is or what you count the fringe as?.

In one of my high school matches I had 260 in so I decided to lay-up in front of the water, my lay up bounced of a yardage stone and bounced an extra 30 yards and dropping into the water.
That would work out well and save me from some back problems haha, thanks for the suggestion.
I use Nike Golf 360, you enter your score, putts and where you hit your drive and it calculates your GIR percentage, putts per round, and driving accuracy.
