I just take my average stroke result counting all my games even the worst (officially countable, not scramble or others stupids).
I get my stroke average. it's usually 2x my paper handicap.

I swing with leg power, certainly too much or in the wrong way. My back swing loads heavy into my right side then I push to drop the arms and turn.
I really need spikes, especially on my back leg (right foot).
even if you dont make many birdies by driving long and straight, you avoid more doubles and bogeys.
nevertheless if you can drive 300 + yards (270m) you should be able to manage wedges pretty close.

are you sure your not putting the lens flipped the wrong way ? they do have a shape and are not reversable.
do you wear them too much ? 10-12 hours is recommended max,...
