Hey guys, Thank you all for your advice! I have not seen a fitter yet, but I did try a number of different shafts to swing at. I will probably ask my pro when I go in for a lesson. Meanwhile, i went on to the field for the first time, and realized that milking and trying hard for extra distance doesnt mean as much as hitting the ball straight. With the unifllex i have--true temper, btw--i have eased my swig a little bit to make sure the swing was a bit more fluid, and...
Hey guys,   I currently have the full club set bought from Costco--Callaway x24's in steel, uniflex shafts. I've started taking lessons and practices for little more than 3 months, and I was as frustrated I could be for last couple of days. I've been badly hooking my shots, and couldn't figure out why, until I read an article saying that using a shaft that's too soft for my swing speed will tend to hook the balls, whereas the opposite will tend to slice...
It's been about a month since I filmed my swing. It seems that I've started having a "booty bumps" :S I did gain some more yards, but now keeping my left arm straight has become troublesome.   My swing path has changed from slices to a LOT of draws/hooks. I wonder I might benefit from switching to stiff flex? I currently have uniflex. Thanks for any inputs!
Golf is hard, but no doubt it is so much fun; especially when I have people giving me valuable tips! Thanks again!
Thank you very much for the valuable tips and the words of encouragement! It seems so hard to memorize all the things that I have to/shouldn't do, but I guess that's why people say practice makes perfect!   The thing about my back swing is that, though, I was watching a Youtube video and the guy said to straighten the back leg to be able to squat and swing. I don't know if that's something I should be learning right now, but it sure made my back swing a bit more...
Oh and by the way, the ball seems to fly really high--too high it seems; regardless of how I swing.   Thanks!
I've been Playing Golf for: 2 1/2 months My current handicap index or average score is: Unkown My typical ball flight is: Slice The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Slicing/topping   Hey guys, I wanted to share my swing and hopefully get some tips. The outdoor swings are from couple of days ago; and the one from the basement is just today. I've been trying to shift my weight, but it surely isn't easy. Sorry for the crappy...
Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it. I was watching Youtube videos, and it indeed seems that by not being able to shift my weight properly, I am casting the iron.   Now I should try to eliminate that.   Thanks again!
When I Google/Youtube for high ball trajectory, a lot of them talked about the strength of gripping. And after I've started playing golf, my right hand is always a little numb/stiff, which led me to believe my grip is too hard.  And weight shift is just my thought; it just felt like I'm uppercutting the ball. O wow, thank you so much!
Hey guys,   I'm a newbie golfer. Just started practicing just about 2 months ago. I've been hitting the irons for the most part, going to an indoor driving range and taking lessons--2 so far.   The thing I realized today when I went to the outdoor driving range was that the ball trajectory seemed way to high.  Upon further research, it looked like I was gripping the iron too hard and/or I didn't have the proper weight shift. Now, I'm having trouble doing both...
