I played in a tournament here the other day. I shot a 73 on 18 holes. Everyone was proud of me for breaking 80. I was not too excited because the tees were moved forward a lot on the par 4 and par 5 holes. I think if we played from the blue tees I would have scored high 80s or low 90s. For me, the 73 is not a real score.
Thanks. I am a G/T student. My mom always checks me on my writing and my grammar. She wants me to get good grades.   Joel
Thanks for your replies.   I think sometimes I compare myself to other players who have been playing since they were 5 or 6 like my friend and I feel frustrated but I have to remember I have a long way to go. I posted because everyone here at my club tells me I am good and sometimes I wonder if they are just being nice, especially when I go to big tournaments and other kids are shooting under par.    I have had my swing analyzed and I've been told I have a great...
My name is Joel. I am 13 and last time my handicap was calculated two months ago, it was 18. I have been playing for 3 years. I golf every day, even during the school year, and I feel I should be better than I am. I have made some birdies, an eagle and a hole-in-one on my course, (but those were lucky.) Most of the time, I get pars and bogeys (some double bogeys, too and occasionally triples or worse) I am not a long hitter- my best drive was 230 but it's usually about...
Awesome! I'm going to get both!!!! My parents could use the rule book. They caddie for me sometimes.   Joel
Thanks. I've learned that I will ask from now on, to avoid situations like this. I have another friend who I play with and we always just attend the flag stick for each other unless one of states otherwise.  I guess it is habit. Thanks.   Joel
Hi. I am new here. I have been playing golf seriously for 3 years. Now that I am going to play competitions I am doing my best to learn the rules. I play every day, and I have a few friends who come out a lot, too. There is one friend who frequently calls penalties on me for things and most of the time he is wrong. At least I think he is. Today, for example, his brother was chipping to get his ball on the green. Since it was a close chip, I attended the flagstick out of...
