Funny comparison. Is the rugby WC more exciting than a golf major? Depends who you are, I know what I get more excited about at least. And I found at least the last major quite compelling!
I play my course (Seyssins, Grenoble, France), a compact 9 hole course (no par 5), around 1 h if I don't get stuck behind other people.

I do this when my ball contact is off. Works for me. Never read it anywhere though.

First in gets the pin.
Not a hard rule of course, if the first person to hole out forgets it (maybe he made a birdie, hey!) I don't mind picking it up. I even don't mind putting the pin back for the whole round if no one...
Never been successful with choking down. I never try to go at it harder with my shorter clubs so I would always take the 8i, but depending on the situation I would take a 3/4 swing or open up the club face a little.
I think to say he's done is a bit premature. Prove himself all over again? Yes, both on and off the course it seems, but done? Personally I was never a big fan of Tiger, but I do think he'll win again.
Second that. We're fortunate to be able to play 11 moths a year here (Grenoble, France). Got a 9 hole course 10 minutes from the office, so I try to play at lunchtime during the winter months.
Switched to an Odyssey white hot XG #9 last season but wasn't that happy with a heel shaft as I thought I would be (kept pushing my puts). Loved the soft face though, so this season I'm putting with an Odyssey white steel 2-ball center...
