Well recently, I tried a new technique that I came up with which is where you have the club angled back for a flop, but when you take it back, you don't break your wrists and I seem to get more consistent contact. It's a weird feeling, but it works. It only works if you really use your core on chips (thanks to stan utley). Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this or if this is actually a real kind of shot. Thanks

I never cock my wrists for chip shots. For pitches I do a little bit. For flop shots I do alot.

Try putting the ball way back in your stance, then hit the flop. It may not go as high, but it will spin like a SOB.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

I have practice the full shot flop shot with my 60 degree wedge and have same par three times at different occasions, however, I do hinge my wrist with a wide open club face.

I do both - but i have to say that without wrist it makes the shot easier imo and i get better consistancy with it.

I have looked at slow motion video of multiple tour players and here is what I see.

They get set at the top, right wrist bent back, left wrist flat, club inline with the target. This relationship of the right arm to the left arm to the body at the top is key.

Now just pivot around spine to the target maintaining the same relationship as at the top until the club is parallel to the ground . This very difficult move is the key reason why tour players are so different from the rest of us. They can maintain that configuration of arms and body while keeping their head and posture steady.

If you perform this move correctly you will be surpised to find that your hips are 30% open to the target line at impact, just like tour players.
