I also have GP tour Velvets on all my clubs. Comparing the cost, playability, feel and how long they last they are by far the best value.

I enjoy Lamkin rubber compound grips. In my experience, they endure longer than GP.

I played Lamkin before I went with Gripmaster USA Leather Grips. If you want tacky, look no further. If you want a grip that lasts a couple of years and is tacky in the cold and wet, try Gripmaster.

Yes, they cost 3X as much, but I don't like to change grips and I don't change my irons.

And yes, PGA Tour Pros play them.

+1 for multi-compunds. I've got those for my irons and wedges, and I've never had so good grips. It's like you have some glue between your hands and the club (yes, that's a + imo).

If I had to say something bad about them, it would be that after a year there is a minor dimple on my right hand's thumb.

Grips are personal for a lot of reasons...feeling in your hand, climate where you play, etc...but I have recently went to the new Black Widow grips (made by Softspikes) see at http://www.bwgrips.com/cms/index.php?s=edge I actually like the ones called the "Edge"...they just feel good in my hands and they are only $3.99 each at my local golf store...sweet!

i was gaming multi-compounds and loved them. although i realized i needed a midsize. i decided to try out the PURE after reading about them. got the midsize wraps on ebay for $60 shipped for 13 with air gun attachment. these things have a perfect amount of tackiness, medium firmness. the .6 core fits perfect for my hands. its a very comfortable grip and very easy to install (if you have an air compressor). they guarantee the tackiness for a year and they say they take even longer to wear. they have a few different firmness, styles and sizes http://www.puregrips.com but i'd check ebay you'll probably save about $30

For myself, I kinda like the new Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G.  Not too harsh on my hands.

A lot of Winn grips are tacky to the point where, if you practice at all, they will MURDER your hands even if your grip isn't that bad.

GP Tour Velvets or Lamkin 3Gens or Crosslines are very good. A corded version of these (Crosslines or Tour Velvets) will play softer and be just as 'tacky' even though they don't feel that way immediately.

Right now all my clubs (with the exception of my driver and 3w since I haven't had a chance) have Lamkin PermaWrap grips (midsize).  For me I like the feel that they give and it seems that these things will last forever.

I actually play 3 grips.  For my driver, 3W and two hybrids I use the Black Widow Tour Silk White grips.  For my irons its the Tacki mac itomic grips.  The Tacki Macs are ridiculously tacky and are great for irons.  For my wedges I use Lamkin 3Gen N-DUR grips.  My Scotty has the stock grip.

I think grips are just as important as the swing itself. So what grips do you like or would like to try.

I use Lamkin Crossline mids and would like to try out some Golfpride half cords. But will use the Lamkins for the entire up coming season since they are new to my clubs.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
