    • Reporting scores in abnormal conditions
      By Hardspoon · Posted
Agreed - I post everything.  It's all about integrity. The only exception is if you start playing with no intention to post it (ie, a practice round), knowing in advance you are going to be playing with multiple balls or with non-conforming equipment (a laser with slope calculation and club recommendations, for example).

I agree completely.  Some people omit reporting scores that will lower their handicaps.  That's called cheating.  Some people choose not to report scores that will raise their handicap.  In my mind, that's cheating too.  Choosing which scores to report, based on what they'll do to your handicap, is just wrong.
    • Fatting the ball with irons?
      By dave s · Posted
First off, let me state that I'm NOT a huge divot guy.  I can still hit the ball first with an iron, bottom out my swing ahead of the ball, but still don't dig alligators from the fairways. Swings we see from PGA tour golfers bottom out 2-4" in FRONT of the ball.  My guess is that your divots are more likely starting BEHIND the ball. In this case, taking divots is a clear indication of a 'fat' shot.  The shots don't fly far and likely turn left on you.  We've all been there, done that and still do with more regularity than any of us would like to admit. What stops the 'fat' shot is moving those hips forward and up, getting weight forward and moving everything slightly forward and toward the target.  What you THINK might work is simply moving the ball back in your stance.  This will only produce lower ball flight, hooks and less-than-expected distance on your irons. Good luck.  You'll get it straightened out! Dave

Merry Christmas!!!!   Thank you @Hardspoon for sharing!  I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I'm thinking - Would I give up two good weekend rounds of golf at decent courses to better track my statistics for life?  Yep- I should...  Shoot, might help me win some gift certificates lol -Sincerely, Berry Tempted

Someone who takes mulligans and breakfast balls only hurts himself down the road. Over time he's going to find that he's got a handicap he can't play to.
