Yeah, some wedges don't wear out that fast. Some PGA pro's switch out their wedges every 3 months, probably because they get clubs free from sponsors. For the average player, 3 months is not necessary.

I voted every year b/c I play 5 times a week and practice my chipping, bunker, and wedge play quite a bit every time I play.

I haven't had to change a wedge because of wearing out. I just upgraded from Adams Tom Watson PVD wedges to Vokey's and MP-T's. I can't imagine my grooves ever wearing out.

With how much I play now, I'll probably end up getting new ones every two years. Otherwise, whenever the grooves get really worn out.

Clearly the sensible answer is when the grooves wear out. Part of the reason that I chose ping tour-w cast stainless wedges, was so that this wasn't a factor too frequently.

At this point I don't know how long I expect to get out of them, but in the course of the summer so far I see absolutely no discernible change in their appearance or playing characteristics. I expect their lifetime should be measured in years, and I'm hoping for at least five.

If you play 5+ times a week, I would suggest changing 2 times a year to keep that "zip" on your wedges. If you are a weekend warrior, then once every two years will suffice.

Well i play 6 times a week sometimes seven and i change mine out every 14 months.

You think 2 times a year even for a player that plays 5 times a week without practicing?
