I have the Proforce V2, and it's a really good shaft. My club speed is really low, so I have the most flexible setting. It really is a good shaft.

In the bag:

I have it on my 3 wood and it is a great shaft. The stiff flex i have is just the right weight and creates the perfect trajectory with my 3 wood.

In my Ping bag:
Driver: Titleist 909 D2 9.5*

3 Wood: Nickent Pro
Irons: Titleist AP2 Project x 5.5Wedges: Titleist Vokey 200 Series Vokey 52*, 56*, 60*Putter: Scotty Cameron Detour 1 (just ordered it)

i had one when i played the 975j. Very solid shaft and i believe they have a shaft selection that adheres to every swing speed and tempo in the spectrum.

I think they are the best shaft for the money. They are not "game improvement" at all, but I don't want my shaft trying to make up for anything in my swing. They are low torque and tight dispersion for a fair price.

It is a good shaft if you are a "hitter" and/or have a fast transition. It is a tip stiff shaft so there is no half way swing with these babies, its full on or nothing.

I had them in my 3 metal and resuce club but pulled them b/c I'm a swinger and got tired of going at it all the way. For me is was good for distance, but b/c I had to go at it hard the accuracy took a beating.

When I started playing again last year after a 5 year lay-off I updated my woods....went with my first 460cc driver and the V2 High Launch shaft.

I went with this shaft because I felt I needed some trajectory help.

I'm a tall golfer and I mistakingly ordered the shaft overly long...should have left it normal as the club was overlength in it's stock form.

The tip was a bit whippy and shot dispersion was predictably erratic.

I would have been way better served had I gone with the normal V2 shaft, standard length, stiff flex. I've hit this combination since and loved it.

You can jump on it and not get ballooning shots. It is a super shaft. It will suite a wide range of players. For example....one of my normal playing partners (6hcp) has a Callaway driver with the V2 stiff flex. He hits a nice drive (250yd ave with a baby fade). Another guy he plays a lot with (3hcp) games a Titleist driver with a heavy xtra stiff shaft. He hits his fairly high, too, with tons of carry (275 yd ave with nice draw).

The 3hcp borrowed the 6cp's V2 shafted driver the other day after skying his extra stiff Titleist....maybe 270yds. He nailed the V2 and easy 20 yards further but it was on a lower, boring trajectory that optimized both carry and roll out. I was expecting him to sky the heck out of it.

The V2 shaft is really something special....in my limited experience with it.

Yes, Adam Scott and Davis Love III are such "hitters" with fast transitions.

It's a stiffer tipped shaft, yes. I disagree on the "hitter/transition" stuff.

Great shaft, I'm looking to get a driver with one.

My regular flex Nike Sumo I can normally poke it 220-230 at the range. A 907 D2 with this shaft I was flying it over the fence at 240 which is 40 feet high (I worked there so I know).

Yes, Adam Scott and Davis Love III are such "hitters" with fast transitions.

My apology for the poor wording. The V2 suites hitters or those with a fast transition better b/c of the stiff tip for we am's. I can hit the shaft, I just don't like to work that hard.

DL III is 6'3", AS is 6'0", due to their height they can generate high club head speeds. Most pro's head club speed is greater than 110 mph so that will over power most shafts. At that speed, and higher it doesn't matter if they are "hitters"; (also you are talking about pro's, I was talking about we am's). So they get X stiff and or a heavier shaft that are high kicking shafts to keep up with their swing speed. With club head speeds in excess of 110 they need a X stiff shaft and the stiff tip adds to the back bone of the V2. This is probably why the V2 is such a popular shaft on tour. But I think you already know this.

    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
