I am a mid to high handicapper with hcp of 20. I'm in the market for a new set of irons and would like something extremely forgiving so that i don't have to worry a whole lot of things on the course about my swing and can spend more time enjoying the game.

I have basically narrowed it down to these few particular brands and model: Ping G10, Cobra S2, TM burner.

What i need is forgiveness not only in easy launching the ball, but equally important is to launch it in the right direction. I don't mind losing some distance for mishit but the direction and straightness is important.

Any suggestions are more then welcome.

I tried the G10 and the Mizuno MX-100s. I thought the Mizuno's were the easiest to hit iron's I have ever tried.

Out of those 3 I would say the Ping G10's.
You can find a new set of Callaway Big Berthas from 06 or even the bigger 08 model. They are both super forgiving and easy to hit.

I just bought a set of Ping G5 irons (very similar to G10 and cheaper), and I think they offer what you're looking for. They really help you get the ball in the air, and the direction is very forgiving. For example, if I hit one thin (which I'm doing too often lately) the G5s still get the ball up in the air, on target, and an acceptable distance.

Graphite shafts are more expensive, but I think they offer an even more forgiving feel. I got steel shafts because they're cheaper and I prefer the weight.

I would definitely trust the TM burner irons out of those three. Also, if i were you I may also want to consider Callaway Big Bertha irons. Which are similar to the burners but I believe even more forgiving.

Similar experience here. The G series are easy gamers. The AWT steel shafts get the ball up nicely.

As already said the Callaway Fusion Wide Soles are the way to go if you want forgiveness.

Out of those 3 I'd pick the G10's but you might want to try out the G15's if you want a little more forgiveness.

If you have the money go for the Ping G10's or Big Bertha's. A cheaper alternative not mentioned yet are Nickent 3DX RC and DC sets, which are very affordable right now and forgiving. I picked up my set of RC's for $100 of ebay (legit) and am very happy with the forgiveness and distance it provides.

i totally agree - i have G5's and love them...liked them better than the Mizuno's

I'm a Mizuno fan, so I'd suggest trying some of Mizuno offerings in the MX series. With that said, go with whatever irons you hit the best. I think that it is also important that the club s/u good to your eye.

If your looking for forgiveness I would go with the Pings.

i too would go with the pings for their outstanding forgiveness. however i am not huge on the feel of pings. to me they felt kind of hard like i was hitting with rocks. if you are looking for a better feel i would go with the TM burners. the pings however take the cake for forgiveness.

COBRA, COBRA, COBRA, COBRA...great clubs and very forgiving. They feel like pure butter when you hit them and compared to a lot of other irons have a very reasonable price tag. Go with the S2s and you will not be sorry...I just bought the forged version and it's the best money I've ever spent on a golf related item.

You can't go wrong with either of the 3 you suggested nor the Cally Big Bertha or Fusions, but the Ping G10s may well last you a lifetime. If you check the review section at golfwrx, even single digit h'cappers are playing the G10s.

I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
