Hi everyone,

I am new to this site as of this morning. I am a 22 year old male and just started playing golf two months ago.

I inherited a set of Ping Karsten I irons 3-9 and a wedge from a retired friend of mine and have been using those as I learn how to golf. So far my best 9-hole round has been a 49, though I am generally in the low-mid 60s.

Seeing as I do not know much about golfing or golf clubs in general---do you think these irons are acceptable for a beginner, or should I look into getting something more recent?

Thanks a lot for any input,
-David

I have been golfing for about a year. I recently purchased a set of Ping Zing 2's to go with my 08 Big Berthas. The Pings are more accurate for me, but the distance is a bit less.

I did a bunch of research and I could hardly find anyone with anything bacd to say about an older set of Pings. They seem to make great clubs that last forever if taken care of.

I don't know alot about your specific model, but with the Ping name they can't be too bad.
