I wonder if a lot of brian's cocky attitude is played up to make him hated. People love watching stuff like that. Its good for ratings.

Man I love some of the crap that comes out of Brain's mouth!!!! "Ive built a swing in the last 3 months that can win PGA Tour events. Do you know anybody else who can do that? Becasue I dont. Only I can do that."

Yeah, he definitely thinks highly of himself. Honestly though, the way he played on the show this seaons, I would be shocked if he broke 80 at normal courses, let alone courses on Tour.

BTW, if you want to follow Sara Brown at Q School, she's the "Sarah Brown" without an "h":

Thanks for the link to this. I was looking for it.

Looks like she has a chance if she can continue the consistent play!

I know that ALL of you are big Carling Coffing fans... And that she was not even on BBDR... But she's playing in Dubai this week with her second BB tournament exemption. She won the Pro-Am, finished second with partner Michelle Wie in a 9 hole charity event, and is currently tied for seventh at -3 after two rounds. Girl is gonna make some $.

did she gain weight? i was watching and it looks like her legs are much thicker, not the lithe little things they were on BB

I think you're correct. She does look a little heftier but it looks good. I think that girl could make it. Sara too.

Carling finished 75,74 at T22. Still a darn good showing in that field from a player with not a lot of big-time event experiance and I'm thinking still a pretty good pay day. And the world got to got to see two birdie dances on the TV coverage! The Euro comentaters were wowed. Hope she can break through to the big tour which desperately needs players with real personality who can win.

Looks like Sara (no h) Brown qualified by shooting 74 in the final round.

Sarah (with an h) Brown choked her guts out or something and shot 83 to finish T44.

Translation is that Sara from Big Break earned her LPGA Tour card on the number (she's now going to Spain to play in the final stage of European LPGA Qualifying). Carling sent out some photos from Dubai... Didn't notice much of a difference... She's a workout nut though, who knows.

Skatel is still an interesting character, an assistant Pro with no colon in PA or wherever, and has a swing that can win professional tournaments no doubt about it. He still does not miss four footers... Ever.

Yeah, I wonder why she's going over. Pretty sad state of affairs that you can consider dual membership, but maybe she's thinking that with all the breaks the LPGA season has in it, getting two just makes sense.

Wasn't it funny when they awarded Blair 10 points at the end of the next-to-last show for having no strikes? The players seemed surprised by it, as if the reward came from nowhere. I maintain that Big Break wanted to have one of the prettier girls leading the pack!

Awarding a player and exemption (Dubai) that directly conflicts with the final qualifying stage for the LPGA Tour is a bit crazy imo. I don't think the show has ever awarded a tournament exemption with that kind of conflict have they??

I wish the Golf Channel would do a "Big Break: Where are they now?" show for all of the contestants across the different seasons to see who's still trying to make it professionally, who has made it professionally, who's given up, and who's flipping burgers and delivery pizzas. Would be great to watch.

Brian blogged as such, and that he was playing it up a bit.... But it seemed like a ton of revisionist attitude to me, perhaps written well after some episodes had aired and he was cautious about how it was all being perceived?

Anyone can play it up for the cameras a bit on these types of shows, but the guy did it FAR to many times, and even did so during the HEAT of elimination challenges on multiple occasions. Simply not believable that he was playing a character. Perhaps the most telling being the fingers scraping the green situation, his changing excuses a few times during the episode, then blogging Sara was right even after the official ruling was WEEKS OLD. The idea for a "where are they now" show is brilliant, and should be sent to The Golf Channel.

Does anyone know anything about the next BB? When? Where? Will Brian be on it?

I saw a promo for it during the Shark Shootout yesterday and Brian's face did flash by on the screen. What that means I do not know.

iirc, more than a dozen faces were on the promo... far more than the # of contestants we have seen in recent seasons.

    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
    • I would never do the extended warranty on the $50 slow cooker.  I also routinely reject the extended service plans on those toys we buy for the grand-kids.  I do consider them on higher cost items and will be more likely to get one if the product has a lot of "Electronic Tech" that is often the problem longer-term.  I also consider my intended length of ownership & usage.  If my thought is it would get replaced in 2-3 years then why bother but if I hope to use it for 10 years then more likely to get the extension. I did buy out a lease about a year ago.  Just prior to the lease end date the tablet locked up and would not function.  I got it repaired under the initial warranty and would not have bought it out if they had not been able to fix it since IMO once electronic issues start in a car they can be hard to track down & fix.  They did fix it but when I bought out the lease I paid up for the extended warranty the would cover electronic failures because my intent is to keep that car for another 8-10 years and I just do not trust the electronics to last.  Last week the touch screen went black and was unresponsive.  It reset on the 2nd time I restarted the car but that is exactly how the last malfunction started.  I fully expect to have a claim on that on repair under the extended warranty.  I do not recall the exact cost to fix last time since I did not pay it but I think it was @ $700-$800 and I suspect that will be higher next time.
