I'm surprised noone has mentioned David Toms at the PGA. To ace a hole with a 4-wood (I think) in the final round of a major, and win was pretty amazing. I missed the Byrd one though. That has to be the greatest.

5-wood, if I remember correctly (not guaranteed). But I think he still has the club in his bag.

As it was rolling I told him it could be a hole-in one, then it just dropped in the hole. We were quite excited, then I was quite bummed, I've been playing for 20+ years and have never had one...oh well!

That is awesome!  I bet he is hooked now, if he was not before.   My little brother made one when he was 11, and then another one at 12 and I never heard the end of it until I caught up with him.  So I bet you have it coming.

Wow, There's certainly been some interesting answers - here are some of them so far.

Vijay Singh - of course

Jonathan Byrd

Fuzzy Zoeller

Tiger Woods at Scottsdale

Lee Janzen

Gene Sarazen

Anyway, I’ll leave you with the Vijay Singh Video – this one’s rather cool as it shows his amazing shot from 5 different angles – wot a beauty, and also a Hole in One video compilation - enjoy
