This is crazy, here in Cincinnati its has stormed 5-6 days in a row, and won't stop until Friday.  The Ohio River is flooded and worst of all my courses have all been closed since Friday.  I'm so bored I'm going crazy.  Is there anyone else experiencing this much rain this year.

I'm from the Youngstown area and they said on the news that we have had rain 20 out of 25 days this month. The only places we can play around here are places with really good drainage or walking only in soaking wet roughs and fairways.

We are getting a bunch of rain here in Michigan, but most of it has dissipated over Lake Michigan so we just get little storm clouds here and there. It has rained a bunch though and it has been nothing but cart path only so far this season.

2-5 inches of rain is being forecast this week in southern Michigan. I played Saturday, and 2 of the 3 nine hole courses were underwater. This weather sucks!

We have some rain here in Calgary this week I think. Better than snow ( which has finally all but gone )...playing 9 holes tonight, chance of thunderstorms though.

Can't even use my Ci9s ( they're in Golf Town getting re gripped ( which is taking a week because they're so busy ) ), so I will be using some crappy old no name set I got for $80

I hope it isn't raining next weekend...I am going f*cking crazy waiting to play.

Played in the Rain on Saturday. We went to a Par3 course in Cape Cod, it wasnt pouring out but it was raining good and steady when we packing our bags up and just decided to "go for it".

We were the only ones on the course(obviously) and got in for 10$ the guy in the bar was just like go for it if you want! So we played 9 in the cold 45-50* windy rain for 2 hours. It was actually pretty fun completely different conditions, I swear you had to crank the ball on the greens to get it to roll 10ft. Just crazy. Got a nice sunny day yesterday and laid the whole set on the lawn to dry out it seems to be fine now. It was fun if your that desperate try and get in a round in the rain, just mentally commit to doing it and dont look back.

I'm from Youngstown too, went out to Knoll Run on Saturday. It was just a sloppy muddy waste of time. This rain is rediculous.

I live in the pacific northwest, and anytime except summer, we have no idea what sun is... It's all rain.  This year, though, has been a ton worse in terms of amounts of rain, a lot of mudslides around... thank you la nina!  The only good side to this is tons of powder to ski in the mountains!!

I'm here in the old queen city too.

It has been wet.  I actually played Sat before the rain at Blueash.  I'm pretty sure there open.

But yeah, its been wet to say the least.

I'm in Cleveland...

Here's the good news...in late July, when things in Ohio tend to get brown and burned out...this year, it shouldn't be as bad. Softer courses in the summer equal lower scores. Plus, lately, if you can brave the rain and wet, most courses are playing pretty easy because greens are soft and fairways/rough don't roll - you can fire at pins, and wayward tee shots get lassoed.

Just had flash flooding around my area. And the company my father works for owns that course, usually pretty dry they put a lot of money into the drainage there. I walked Candywood on Saturday and I thought it was decently dry as long as you stayed in the fairway.

Been raining a lot down hear in southern il too,  did get to play on mon and thurs last week but rained about every day since then.  Might not be clear until Thursday it looks like here, hope to get out again then and hope ground is a little less saturated by weekend.   Sucked having a long weekend because of holiday and not being able to play but that happens in April i guess.   It will dry up before summer and get those nice fast, rock hard fairways back.

I know! When I think of the dry courses around us it's usually Tanglewood, Knoll Run or Reserve Run but every is bad. I went to reserve run today and it was extremely soggy. Standing water everywhere.

I just got home from work, had to drive a block out of the way to get home, road was flooded.  Ive lived here in the same place for 11 years and this is the first time its rained this much.  Theres a ditch about 3 feet deep in my front yard and its overflowed, got about 6 inches of water in my yard.  Needless to say its pretty wet.

Greater Toronto Area: This, so far, has got to be the wettest and coolest Spring I have experienced. It seems that there is a threat of rain daily with cooler temps than normal. I have yet to get out and play golf this year, seen a golf course since I work at one which is open but the conditions are quite wet. Hopefully things will improve after this week which is forecasted to see heavy rain up to Friday.

I play at Blue Ash a lot, it's a pretty nice course. I was out of town last weekend, but I can only imagine how wet it was out there. It's been so frustrating trying to get out and golf lately.

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
