JasonK88S - Nice pun in there bro! You had me ROLLIN!

Fourputt - There's no arguing with you because you're always right so for that I apologize, oh righteous one.

David in FL - Good point man, I never knew that until now! Thanks a bunch!

Meenman - Thank you for repeating the same stuff every other wiseacre has put in here.

Darkhunter139 - I know right?! I'm clearly such an idiot. Oh wait, I'm not. Better luck next time you prick.

Mschott- Obviously it is wrong to sneak on a course. I've snuck onto a course maybe once in my life without paying. Every other time I've snuck on it's because I already have a pass for that course, I just don't feel like going up to the register to get logged in. They usually just wave me on anyway. I forgot, though, that you know everything about me so you already knew all this, right?

Phan52 - You just crossed the line. How dare you bring Duke basketball into this? And they just beat the defending champions, Kentucky in a fairly easy manner, but you know, what does that prove? Oh wait, quite a lot actually.

People of any age who have to claim they are very mature invariably aren't.  As the rest of your post demonstrates.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Iv'e just walked on a few times to play 4 holes or so before dark no sense in paying full price to walk 4 holes.

That's like saying it is perfectly ok to walk into a store and take four bites out of a sandwich and leave without paying for it.

A lot of courses have twilight rates, or would work out a deal for you to play a little golf late in the evening (some may even let you do it free if you do something like move all the tee markers off the edges of the tee boxes for the mowing the next morning).

I wish more courses here did things like "a buck a hole" promotions in late hours. Twilight rates are generally only the 9 hole rate around here. In any event, I'm usually practicing late in the day in the practice area when the clubhouse is closed and no employees are around. I've seen a bunch of folks hop onto the first tee from the practice area to just get a few holes in before it's totally dark. Or they'll go to the adjacent 9th or 10th hole and practice in those bunkers because they have actual sand and actual green to practice on. I recognize that those are strictly wrong, but I couldn't ever work up enough of a lather to condemn it. I make a right on red at an intersection where it's prohibited sometimes late at night when there aren't cars around, so I can't judge them, haha.

I've done this when courses close for the winter before the snow falls, and of course when there's no frost or frozen greens. Course is closed but in perfectly playable condition. I've done it prolly a dozen times.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
    • Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
