This may be a silly question, and slightly off topic, but I was confused by a few things in the thread.

When talking about angle of attack with the driver, is it all relative?  Meaning, I use a 13* driver.  If I hit 1* down, is that the same thing as someone with a 9* driver hitting up 3*?  In other words, is it really all about whether you are hitting down or up, or more about how that swing interacts with your equipment?  It seems like in that case, there couldn't be a non-relative optimium either down or up way...

Nope. Backspin and launch angle will be different. FAR more backspin (all else equal) with the 13/-1 than 9/+3.
