I don't mark my balls, actually. I like a pristine ball. Mine usually say "thesandtrap.com" on them, though, which works to help identify my ball just fine.

I don't mark my balls either

. But that's because the balls I play with already has a sufficient line made by the letters from the manufacturer on it.

I usually only mark my ball if I am plying with someone that is using a similar ball - I have started drawing a line on the equator to help me line up putts though.

Funny story... I played with 3 strangers once, one of whom was a really loud, cocky middle-aged guy, lots of gold, talked a big game. We teed off on the 11th hole, and this gent and I both put our drives in the right rough. He promptly went to the ball that traveled farther and hit his second shot. I got to the other ball and informed that it wasn't mine. He didn't believe me at first, but then realized his mistake, took his penalty strokes like a man, and didn't talk nearly as much the rest of the round.

Two small dots with a blue marker.. One above the P in ProV1 and one under the 1. No idea why I do that but I've done it the same on every ball for the past couple years.

I used to mark a small line where it said -- Pro V1 392 --. More than anything to help me line up my putts... but since Titleist has the line there on the new Pro V's I have quit doing it. For some reason I have never liked marking up my ball anyway.

Nah, I don't mark my balls, normally. But, I have seen some interesting markings before, including a swastika (which later became imprinted on my buddy's driver; he hit it that hard), a ball that said "Birdie Buster", among others...

I don't often run into people who play the same ball (Mafli Black Max) so I don't generally mark them... I also play high number pro V1's for the same reason. When I play a more common brand I put a single red dot at the top right of the number.
