For Golfshot, there is a list on the web: http://golfshot.com/GolfCourses Big fan of GolfShot here. GolfLogix was great too but the interface was ugly. I liked the feature of editing your shots with GolfLogix. I also liked the drawings (as opposed to the satellite view). In the bright sun, it's easier to see the drawing view of the hole because features like sand traps and water hazards show up. All in all, the interface for GolfShot won me over, plus it's interface with the Paul Azinger tutorial that ties in to your game profile. I also used to use Swing by Swing for iphone. Their dev team was very responsive, and they like adding features regularly. For example, they have a map view of your round that traces every footstep you take as well as an overlay of every shot you take. Cool to review your round with an overhead map showing each shot (club used and yardage).

Golfshot is very good, very easy, and doesn't crush your battery.  Recently, it handled 36 holes in one day - with multiple ranges found per hole, and still left me with plenty of battery.  The performance metrics are helpful, and can provide insight into improving your game.  I was about to pull the trigger on a Nikon rangefinder for nearly $300, and I figured the $25 for Golfshot was no worse than the damage a good looking cart girl could create.  I've never sought out the rangefinder again in the 2 years I've had Golfshot.  Works great in every course I've played, including in Mexico.  Said differently, I've played some well off the beaten path tracks, and I've never found a course that Golfshot didn't track.  DEFINITELY worth $25.

I've posted in this thread before but they just released a new version and I must say, it's AWESOME. Much better than the "classic" version. I find it quick and easy to use plus it gives me all the information I need, want and more.

It's Golfshot Pro or something now, definitely check it out to those who haven't yet. My only dislike is that I can't disable the pin sheet news.

I'm using GolfShot here on vacation but I haven't seen any update for the app in ages. It's a good app but my beef is that it's stagnant. Never anything new with it. I'm on iOS, so maybe you are on a different phone? My sense is that GolfShot is purposely trying to push people to Tour Caddie, their other product. GolfShot is a one time fee, but Tour Caddie is an annual fee. Best thing about another app I sometimes use, SwingBySwing, is that they are constantly pushing cool new features. Overall, I'm souring on the apps as anything other than a score tracker on the course, but using other tools for stats reviews. I've stopped tracking club distances and even the GPS distances, instead opting for course markers and old-fashioned eyeballing things.

If this is the same as the android Golfshot Pro, it now has club selection recommendations.  Doesn't that put it in breach of the rules of golf? (see http://www.usga.org/uploadedFiles/USGAHome/equipment/DMD%20flowchartv1-3.pdf )

Good question, you should ask it in the Rules of Golf forum. I'm curious. d:x Can your phone be a caddie? lol.

Not sure if they released it for iOS but they have done it for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shotzoom.golfshot2

I just downloaded Golfshot for my Windows Phone and find it to be terrific.  It's really easy to use and input shots, fairways hit, etc. in one easy place.  I used Golflogix in the past but they no longer support Windows Phone.  So far I like it a lot although the GPS system tends to move yardages around a little (not that stable), but it's been fine so far and again the interface is the best so far.

When I had an iPhone I loved GolfLogix. Now that I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 for some reason GolfLogix doesn't want to work with it. I now use Skydroid (.99 cents in app store). I love it, the distances are within a yard of the markers at the country club I belong too.

I used Golf Logix for the first time today on my iPhone 5.  I thought it was very easy to enter scores but the GPS seemed to be off.  The yardages seemed to be 5-7 yards shorter than what they actually were.  One of my playing partners had Golf Logix on his Samsung Galaxy and the yardages were pretty much spot on.

I think I will continue to use Golf Logix to track score, putts, etc., but I think I will take the yardage info with a grain of salt.

I was a long time user of Golflogix on my Galaxy S3.   Since we received the new update, my GPS takes forever to connect.   I tried Golfshot Classic and liked it but was hesitant about spending $30 for an app since I was spending $20/yr for Golflogix.   I liked Golfshot Classic but wasn't completely sold.   When I found a bug in the app, the developers offered me a one year membership to Golfshot GPS.    I'm sold.   I canceled my Golflogix membership and will renew the Golfshot GPS when it comes up for renew.   The GPS works better, the graphics are crisper and I believe the distances are more accurate.   The customer support that Golfshot has, sold me.

The recommended club is a bit annoying but I'm sure I could turn it off if I was playing in a tournament.  Since I don't, I won't.

From the land of perpetual cloudiness.   I'm Denny

    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
