New Golfer - Questions about getting Lessons?

Hey guys ima a new user of this website and I was looking into getting some private lessons to learn the game of golf. Although, I really dont want to commit by purchasing a bag of clubs unless I know that Im going to like playing this sport. Is it possible to take private lessons without personal clubs?

Welcome.  You might be able to rent or borrow them for the lesson, but how will you practice?  I wouldn't suggest spending money on lessons and not having clubs to practice with.  You can find some cheap used clubs on the internet (ebay, 3balls.com, globalgolf.com).

This game, especially starting out, will take plenty of practice. You will need some clubs for that. I would do as newtogolf suggests and find a used set on craiglist or ebay. Then take lessons. if you don't like it, you can always resell them. If you get bit by the golf bug, then you will be glad you have a set.

However, if you have a friend that loves golf, it is highly likely that he will have an old set of clubs or enough extra clubs around to lend you enough to practice with.
