Hey all,

I'd like to get some input on the "slide" of a downswing.  As an example, I've been told to not slide, but turn.  Which in my brain and watching something, makes sense.  However, in "my" golfswing, there is a major breakdown.  When I'm practicing, I get to the top of my backswing and try to turn from that position.  Well, my brain freezes and it's like my body is saying, this doesn't work, please try again.  When I get to the top of my backswing, if I have this feeling of pressing down in my feet to then slide some weight forward, I feel I can turn that left hip better.  I've hit bad and good shots doing this, so I'm not sold it's the right way.  I'm trying to not push right hip forward to throw me off.

So, when people say don't slide, do they mean, just don't slide all weight to the left in the downswing, or are they saying you shouldn't slide/turn?

Yes, I'm lost.
