I'm in the middle of an overhaul of my entire bag.  Until about a year ago, I was still playing a set of Wilson's that was bought for me when I was a Teenager.  I'm 26 now, and needless to say, It was time to upgrade.

Here is whats in my bag now:

Rocketballz Driver

V-Steel fairway wood (DO NOT LIKE...was given to me as a hand me down and I never hit it well)

Old Rescue

4-AW burner irons

Old Sand Wedge (56 degree loft)

Putter

I want to replace the Sand wedge with a Vokey 56 and add a Vokey 60.  Also, I need to replace the Fairway Wood and Rescue.  The rescue is the last of my priorities.

I'm looking to pick up my next club, but am not sure if I should go with the Fairway Wood, Vokey 56 or Vokey 60 first.  The fairway woods I am looking into are the Nike VrS, Taylormade Rocketballz, Titleist 910Fd and Burner superfast 2.0. I'd like to be able to hit it off the tee as well as the fairway. Please tell me what you would do and why.  I'm leaning towards one of the vokeys just because I'd gain the most based on the amount of usage it would get.

Thanks Guys!

I would go with the wedges first.  You will use them a lot more than a 3wood or utility club.

In my bag:

DRIVER: 905T w/ Fujikura E360 Shaft
3 Wood 906 F4 w/ Aldila Proto "By You"
Irons: MP 30 w/ Rifle 5.5 Wedges Oil Can 50*, Vokey SM 54* and 58*Putter: C-06

I would agree, wedges first.

I guess the wedges first since I think you'll use them more than the fw... at least I know that my wedges see more play than my 3w does.

If you aren't so dead set on the Vokeys, the Nike SV wedges are pretty good and you can get a two wedge set (56 and 60) from RBG for $90 or so.  Well worth it in my opinion... considering Vokeys are at least $100 brand new you may have enough to get the wedges and the fairway wood.

To tell you the truth, I'm a lot less set on the Vokeys since I've been doing some research on the SV wedges.  To tell you the truth, I know my skill level, and I'm not at the point where I expect the ball to land 15 feet from the pin and check back 5-7 feet.  I'm looking for a set of wedges that I can hit well, consistantly every round, and that have the playability that I can improve with.

What loft is your current AW? Likely 50*. If so, consider a 54* instead of a 56*. I find mine very handy around the greens and it has plenty of loft for most sand shots. The 54 and 60 combo works well with my 50* Gap Wedge.

So, I ended up buying my 60 degree wedge.  Went with the Mizuno MP T-11.  Absolutely love it.  Will probably go back for the sand wedge when I don't feel too guilty for spending the money.  Still want to hit the woods though.  So now its down to Sand Wedge vs. 3 Wood.
