I just saw the post about a members first Eagle and it reminded me of my Albatross.

I had been playing a couple months, this was about 20 yrs ago. Par 5, no idea about the yardage, hidden green. We teed off and I hit the only desent drive in my life to that point, right down the center, maybe 225 yrds. Got to my ball had a nice lie, swung at it with my 3 Wood. It was late July and hadn't rained in about 4 weeks, the course did very litte watering if any, what grass there was was brown and crunchy. The ball gets airborne but is very low, goes maybe 100 yrd in the air, hits a patch of bare ground and keeps going. Basicly what it would do if it landed in a asphalt parking lot. Anyway ball goes over a small rise and out of sight. My buddies hit thier shots, everyone found there ball except me. Looked in the weeds to no avail. So I tossed another ball on the ground took a stroke and hit my third shot, took me 4 more shots to actually keep the ball on the green. So I was laying 8 and had yet to put. One of the other guys one putts, goes to get his ball. He pulls out 2 balls. His, and my lost ball! I went from what would have been at least a 10 to a 2.

Given the conditions sorta hard to call it legit, but it was fun at the time.

It was pretty cool. But like a say what grass there was was brown and litrally crunched under your feet. It was so bad that pretty much any on any hill on incline all you had to do was drop a ball and it would roll to the bottom. Like I say like hitting the ball in a parking lot. None the less regardless of how far the ball would roll it did go into a tiny little hole from a long way away.

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
