My new Titleist clubs came in!!!!!!!

26 posts in this topic

Just picked up my Titleist AP2 4-PW and Vokey 56 and 60 (which I turned into a 62) wedges. They are all awesome and I can't wait to play a round with them. Now I'm waiting on my Titliest 910 D2 driver and 910f 3 wood to get in which shouldn't be long. AP2.jpg

They look great.  For all that, they should throw in a Titleist hat for free!

I had the original AP2s, they were great. But the new AP2s are much better I think, more forgiving. But when hitting the sweet spot, they just feel better.

I got mine about 2 months ago, they are buttery smooth.

Great looking clubs!  I'd love a set of AP2s... but couldn't quite stomach the price.  The TM TPs I'm playing are a good playing substitute, but no match for the feel of the AP2.

Do you find you have a big gap between your 52 and 62?  I've got a 20 yard gap between my 52 and my 60.

Well I have a 56 so it's no big deal but for me my 52 I hit no further than 105 yards, 56 no further than 90 yards, and my 62 no further than 60 yards. I play a lot of 3/4 and 1/2 wedge shots and really just use feel and control to hit them how far I want.

Yeah I considered getting the AP1 4 iron but honestly as long as I make a good swing these AP2s are fairly forgiving and I hit it well. Just got done playing 18 and I hit 'em so solid. I'm still getting used to the feel of a forged club after playing cast for many years.

Huh? If you're asking what I got them for I can tell you that I got a good deal because I am in the PGM program at Ferris State.

i had the ns pros (stiff) shaft and just the regular titleist grip. i was fitted for those shafts instead of the project x. i worked at a course at the time and my head pro was on the titleist team so he got me the huge discount. also with my employee discount added in

but then again ive had mine for about 3 years (got the first set of ap2s when they came out). i want to try the new ones out but is there that much of a difference between the two to spend the money on the new ones?

IMHO the new ones are much better than the originals but if you hit the ones you have now well I wouldn't change. I wondered what shaft because you seemed to have paid more for yours than mine but it was probably the shaft.

    • 1 Iron Golf Clubs
So...finally broke 90 the other day....would have been better but for cored and sanded greens. Never struck the ball so well. Have been trialing the "Bobby Clampett" Impact Zone training, and focusing on a point forward of the ball...working a treat so far and my irons are way more solid. Time will tell whether it is a flash in the pan or a good move, but the range session are very encouraging. Played since xmas at all?
    • Donald Trump for president?
Notice this comment ;)  Yea but he's been doing that since he's been in office. At least he hasn't wavered away from his agenda for how ever long he's been in office. He's not going to pass it. He's going to try.  Trump doesn't have an agenda except to his own ego. He doesn't care about America. He doesn't care about the American people. He's uses to screwing as many people over as possible. Heck, why not add Washington to the list.  For me I think Trump just sat back and thought, "you know what I can win the presidency." Then he's going about doing it. It's all about vanity nothing else.
    • How Do You Decide Where to Play Golf
This is a more difficult question for me to answer than it once was, so I selected "Other".   If I play locally, then I only have a couple of choices.  But this year I rejoined the Men's Club at my old home course, so that has now become my current home course even though it's a 2½ hour drive (about 150 miles).  I also play several other courses just as I feel like it, no one course by price because I can get varying deals at 30 or 40 Colorado courses with my Avid Golfer Passport.   A lot depends on how far I feel like driving, it may depend on when my brother drives down from Idaho to play for a few days, and it just depends on what I feel like.
    • Donald Trump for president?
Isn't Bernie doing the same thing?  He's leading a witch hunt against big business and the wealthy.  Do you really believe he's going to pass a 90% income tax on the wealthy, outlaw guns, provide better free healthcare, increase the minimum wage to $15+ country wide and provide free college to everyone? They are both snake oil sales people appealing to the lowest common denominators of their parties.  Bernie may be more sincere about his beliefs, but that could just mean he's crazier too.
    • Jack or Tiger: Who's the Greatest Golfer?
But that stat goes directly to Tiger's lack of longevity (to this point in time).  If he hadn't had the issues that he's had, he wouldn't have missed all of those recent starts.  I don't see how you can diss Jack for being competitive over a longer period, and then still making many starts (which attracted more money to the events just by his presence) after his competitive career was past.  I don't know what the numbers work out to age for age to the point when Tiger was no longer starting in Majors, but that has to be a more telling number.
