Callaway Razr X Black Irons

Callaway is bleeding cash and are likely to post a big loss again this year.  Their iron marketing strategy was horrible, too many models that no one could keep straight and the irons that their #1 golfer uses weren't in any of their ads (Razr Muscleback).  RazrFit is a nice driver but a year or two late to take any market share away from TaylorMade.

Odyssey is so desperate it went for a gimmick with the FlipFace that includes both the Metal-X and White Ice inserts to handle fast and slow greens.   Seems like they don't understand golf very well given many greens start out slow in the morning and become fast by the end of the round.  I'd think switching your putter face would be considered altering your club, which would violate the rules of golf if done mid-round.

They are going to have to start from scratch in 2013 so likely they will try to salvage 2012 by discounting everything to clear shelves and maximize revenue.

True but in the case of Callaway, they arent doing well.  The product is as good as it ever was but there isnt the buzz surrounding it that there once was.  Thats why you are seeing them making changes internally and why so much Callaway gear is discounted.
