I challenge you to prove otherwise.

No doubt putting is not her only problem.  But according to her stats she's 51st, in putting and by your admission she's only that high because she misses too many greens.  Being somewhat worse than 51st (and maybe considerably worse) in real putting ability is going to put a very low ceiling on how well she'll ever do on tour.

She's 26th in PPGIR.

Her putting is not among her top three problems.

26th is better than i would have thought.  I guess straightening out her drives is the biggest problem. I believe that she is still a good golfer with lots of potential.  Since she has the talent, I think it comes down to how much she is willing to work at her game.  Her real career goal might be something other than being a tour golfer.

She's done. It's not her dream to be the best golfer in the world. She's not chasing any records. Eg Tiger chasing Snead and Jack. The family is set for life, even her father doesn't hound her like he used to. Game, set and match.

I still believe that once she rids herself of Leadbetter, she will be a much better player.

I mean maybe the putting this is helping her with the yips, or pulling the trigger, but her full swing stats are what is truly troubling, im.

I guess I'm with a lot of you in that she doesn't seem to have that drive. She was more worried about going to college than playing golf and now she has a lot of work to do to catch up with the top players.

Do her struggles vindicate (at least in part) Ben Wright? I say yes.............

Sayonara Michelle. It wasn't even good while it lasted. Hope you find something else you like doing in life. It certainly ain't golf.

As much as I hate to say it I think she's done. I follow her on twitter and Instagram (I have a crusch on her ok?) and she's always talking about painting and what she's eating rather than putting or hitting the range to work on something.

We never really knew how good she was given she didn't compete at the highest levels of the Ladies Tours until she graduated college.  Was she ever as good as we thought, or was it all hype that her mom created?

The competition on the LPGA is certainly tougher than it was 5 years ago, but her scores are not impressive so far this year.  She's missed 6 cuts and had only 2 top ten finishes.  For 2103, she's made just a little under $100,000 in tournament money, not exactly the results of a prodigy.

In light of the last few posts, I'm wondering if something significant happened?  It sounds like she quit golfing.  Or did she just play really poorly recently?

She WDC in the U.S. Women's Open, and has missed the cut in 4 of her last 6 tournaments, but she did finish 9th in the two she made the cut in.

Pardon my ignorance but what is WDC? Is it just another term for WD??

I believe it's withdrew/cut but not sure how it's different from WD.  It could be used for how points are managed.

Bzzzt. Wrong. She finished T3, T3, T5, T3 in four consecutive majors spanning 2005-2006. Her other finishes were T14, 2, T23, and T26. She was low amateur three times in there.

She also finished T9 at a major this year (and T41, and WD).

She needs to dump Leadbetter, take time off, and figure out whether she enjoys playing golf.

I appreciate you buzzing in (literally) with some actual stats to back up. I would agree that the talent was/is there, just not the want.

T4 in Thailand earlier today. Good play all week. Finished top 20 last week too IIRC.

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.
