Scotty Cameron with a little rust

Hey guys,

I wasn't thinking and forgot to wipe my putter down after playing in the rain a few weeks ago. I pulled it out today and it appears that it has a few spots with a faint rust color. I washed it down and scrubbed it down with a soft brush but it didn't work. Any suggestions or am I just out of luck?

Did you try WD40?

No I have not. Does that take rust off of things?

It will stop it from rusting more.  What finish do you have on your Scotty?

Sounds like time for a nice refreshing Coke Classic®.  My favorite soda is also an excellent rust remover.

Do I just let it sit in coke and then wipe it off with a wet cloth? And how long should it soak?

Overnight.  It's more of a trial and error process.  If overnight isn't long enough, then more soaking will be necessary.  Use fresh Coke each time.  Wipe it off with a dry cloth after soaking, before rinsing off the residual stickiness.

If its stainless steel, it shouldn't rust. Seems rust may be the least of your worries.
