Recommendations for a New Driver???

I'm in need of a new driver that has accuracy and is consistent of the tee, more distance is good too, but not my first priority.

I'm 16 years old and have a mid-handicap and have always had my drivers at 10.5*, i've been a fan of Adams Golf products, but don't know if their Speedline 12 driver is what I want because I like a more pear-shaped head on my driver and a shaft that is less than 46 inches.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a driver that will help me be more consistent of the tee with these specs and a good feel?

have a look at golf redefined and see their choice.  personally I'm a fan of taylormade and looking to try the R1 soon...but horses for courses as they say.  given its adjustability you can get it set just for your swing so you are more consistent off the tee.  distance will be helped too.

You'll want to try a number of clubs because what seems good to one may not to another. That said, I recently got a Callaway Razer X Black that has helped me a lot. Driver has never been good for me, and this one shoots straighter than any I have ever tried. Mine has a pretty long shaft, not sure what the options are there, but it isn't a particularly expensive club so...

i am a Titleist fanboi through and through... look into the 910 or 913 drivers from titleist and see how they work for you. DO NOT BUY without being fit! everyone has a unique swing. make sure what you purchase works right for you. suggestions are only that, suggestions. let the facts back up the purchase!! Yeah, that's what everyone wants...

First, go to a secondhand golf shop and get, say, a $30-$50 used driver in decent shape, no more than 10 years old. Then use the money you saved by not getting a Titleist 913 on golf lessons.

If you want a bargain, last years Vrs was a bomber and very straight/ accurate, tested well everywhere

Titleist 910/913 series or the new upcoming Nike VRS Covert.

1) Find a driver that You can stand to look at, at address (i hate white driver :p)

2) Get fitted with the correct shaft and launch to match your swing

Then buy an rbz with the proper shaft.  BOOM!

You could try finding a driver that is a few years old, say an R9 which would be reasonably priced and you can spend some money on the fitting and a custom shaft. As mentioned above, lessons are also a very good investment, especially if you already have problems hitting a driver, the new club will not help that very much.

Go give the Cobra AMP a swing, you will be very surprised.  It's not your grandpa's Cobra anymore.

I've been a titleist 910 guy but think the RBZ driver is great at only $250. Obviously I agree that you need to be fitted but gotta like the looks of the driver. Also RBZ is long-shafted so might need to cut it down some....think the face is much less punishing on mis-hits

accuracy and consistency off the tee is built into any name brand driver, if you hit it accurately and consistently.

WalkTheCourse is right, your money is better spent on lessons (or at least range time).

Global Golf has the Nike VR real cheap with project x shaft just got one brand new for 100.00

It is just as good if not better then my 1 year old RBZ. Either one of these

I've only been playing six months and bought a slightly used Cobra S3 for $60 off craigslist. I OFTEN get comments at the range at how long & straight my drives are. VERY FORGIVING, adjustable and looooong..... Google some reviews. I bought an unlimited range pass and PRACTICE!!!!!!

I haven't been playing all that long at all but I got extremely good with my generic no named driver. I could average 250 give or take a few yards due to Oklahoma wind. My Father in Law got MD a RBZ 10.5 stock shaft for my birthday Nov. As excited as I was it threw my drive way off. I had to relearn because of the longer shaft. I still take my old super cheap driver out on occasion because when I'm on fire with my RBZ it can't be touched, but when I'm not in the zone it can be punishing. My old cheap one is so reliable, I honestly think its mostly in the shaft that makes a driver stand out performance wise. Sure the club head matters, but its only job is to hit the ball. The shaft makes sure it gets there (with a correct swing obviously) Sorry if I'm not very clear, its late I've been helping my Great Dane deliver pups for the last 7 hours and I've been up almost 24 hours. Slightly tired.
