OK!   I just enjoy reading though.  So many different opinions.   This site is a valuable location for help in selecting new irons.

Post away!

As a relative noob to the forum (and honestly, golf in general) I'm firmly in the "keep your mouth shut and just learn" camp right about now :) It's tough to come up with questions because the weather here in the Northeast just has me practicing putting in the living room and swinging in front of a mirror when I can. And I'm horrified with what I see.

So for now, I'm happy to lurk, chime in lightly when I can, and mostly hang out in the Swing thread, reading all the great advice there and hoping I can pull some of it off in another few months when I can get back out there.

???

I'd rather not have people just "grab a handful of crap and throw it at anyone." It's cool if he wants to lurk around the forum, picking up info and chiming in occasionally. That's actually how I got my start here. I got some great info and wanted more and that led me to want to contribute more to the discussions and the community here in general.

I thumbs'd up your OP.... and then read this one. Let's not make too many blanket statements now

Same here ... the OP was referring to "guests."  I thought he was urging those who haven't even signed up to join the discussions ... not trying to encourage those who have signed up to poop all over the site.

Come on, Logman.  Or we're gonna have to "unlike" your thread. ;)

Sorry if I missed it, but I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet:   Game Golf, which uses sensors on the butt end of each club and a wearable GPS device to track yardages, accuracy and efficiency for every shot you hit in a round, is adding a pin placement feature to its software that will allow users to position the hole in its precise location on every green. The company says the result will be enhanced accuracy on putting and short game distance statistics. “A database of pin locations does not exist in golf, so we are building the world’s first and most robust set of accurate data on pin placements and putting for the amateur golfer,” says Game Golf CEO John McGuire. “We’ve put the control for pin placement back in the users’ hands. The big deal is that the next players to play the course on the same day will see automatically accurate pin placements and can truly plan their game strategies.”     http://www.golfdigest.com/story/game-golf-now-giving-you-pin-placement-option-chance-for-dollar1-million     and   New Pin Placement Feature:
The first advancement not only helps golfers track more accurate putting stats from specific pin placements, but also helps other golfers who will play the same course on the same day. Using GAME GOLF LIVE or the GAME GOLF App, the new Pin Placement feature allows golfers to select the edit button on their phones, zoom in on each green and drag the pin to its precise location, resulting in putting stats that are 100 percent accurate on every green. "We track more data on more golfers on more golf courses worldwide than any other company," added McGuire. The new feature also allows for precise adjustment of ball locations on the green relative to the pin, further enhancing the accuracy of the data. The pin placement feature is currently available on iOS (iPhone) platforms and coming very soon to Android systems.   http://www.worldgolf.com/newswire/browse/92198-GAME-GOLF-LIVE-ANNOUNCES-MAJOR-UPGRADES
    • best pull cart for $150?
You could always check out the best pull golf cart reviews online out there and make a decision for yourself. It's all about the price-point in your case so picking one can be a bit more challenging but there is plenty to look for both in style and quality that will really help you to decide whether or not it's right for you. Don't give up, the right one is out there for you!
    • When a Pro Can’t Correct
I agree with the other posters . . not really the same thing as us being able to correct on the course.  But I wanted to add that just because you *were* able to correct on course doesn't mean you always will be able to.  There will be days when nothing you try will work.
    • Lowest score you've seen?
The most memorable round I ever saw was a -5 66. It was also the best round of my life shooting a +1 72. He was a former club champion and his misses were barely off the green or fairway. Just very consistent on the greens and happen to find 5 pins close to the center.
